Our security is in knowing God as our Heavenly Father

Part 4

5. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven: Let’s try and define God’s will. First of all it is God’s will that all mankind become born again and adopted into the family. It is then that we live a life of walking in obedience to Mathew 6: 33 which states “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all the things that you need will be added to you.” If we are going to do God’s will, we must come to a full understanding of this verse, God has his kingdom and the devil has his kingdom and both of these worlds have consequences that we will reap if we are ignorant of how these kingdoms work. A kingdom is the foundation of where the ruler rules and we have many foundations laid and ruled by different rulers. Humanity with out God who is the King of the universe is a slave to creating a kingdom atmosphere unto them selves and is manipulated by Satan. It’s like living with Alice in wonderland and making up some mirage beliefs that has no eternal consequences in God’s kingdom. God’s will for His children who are only those who are born again people is for them to operate under His divine protection with no other doctrines or additional beliefs contrary to His leading.

In Rev. 22:11-19 John prophesies through the Spirit of God and says. “He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still. Behold, I am coming soon, and I shall bring my wages and rewards with me, to repay and render to each one just what his own actions and his own work merit. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last (the before all and the End of all). Blessed (happy and to be envied) are those who cleanse their garments, that they may have the authority and right to [approach] the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city. [But] without are the dogs and those who practice sorceries (magic arts) and impurity [the lewd, adulterers] and the murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and deals in falsehood (untruth, error, deception, cheating). I, Jesus, have sent my messenger (angel) to you to witness and to give you assurance of these things for the churches (assemblies). I am the Root (the Source) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and brilliant Morning Star.

The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come! And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of Life without cost.

I [personally solemnly] warn everyone who listens to the statements of the prophecy [the predictions and the consolations and admonitions pertaining to them] in this book: If anyone shall add anything to them, God will add and lay upon him the plagues (the afflictions and the calamities) that are recorded and described in this book. And if anyone cancels or takes away from the statements of the book of this prophecy [these predictions relating to Christ’s kingdom and its speedy triumph, together with the consolations and admonitions or warnings pertaining to them], God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the city of holiness (purity and hallowedness), which are described and promised in this book.”

God tells John that He is the first and the last. He is the one and only true God and there is none other like Him. Scripture tells us that God is a jealous lover and we are to put no other gods before Him. There are consequences when we misinterpret scripture by adding or subtracting from its true meaning. A simple example comes from these very verses where it says God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the city of holiness (purity and hallowedness), which are described and promised in this book. This very statement in the majority of born again pulpits are teaching that this means a Christian who is guilty of these things will back slide and go to hell. Again this happens because most born again believers do not believe that when they became born again, the kingdom of God came into them permanently and they have co-seating with Jesus Christ in the heavenly realm. We must be hungering and thirsting after the righteousness of God because human nature has been cursed with a forgetting memory and they must be reminded daily by the Holy Ghost that they are pure and blameless in God’s sight and without spot or wrinkle. Jesus is coming back for this type of church. It is these doctrines being preached that born again believers have to stay conscience of their faults and failures and work hard so they will not sin and break God‘s laws. In turn, God will let them go to heaven because, they have tried hard and God will honor that.

A born again Christian loses his share of [approaching] the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city with authority because, they have a mind set and are plagued with shame and a lack of confidence as to the position they hold in God’s eyes. Rather then the so called leaders and teachers in the churches extolling on the born again saints position they hold in Christ, they harp on areas that Christian need to be working on so that they think about cleaning up their act. A born again believer cleanses their garments not by trying harder but by allowing the Holy Ghost the freedom to flow and have access to our hearts and mind.

I have over the years had discussion with people who are Catholic, Protestant or some other sect that want to convert me to their persuasion and beliefs. They think that I am trying to convert them to my own doctrine. Any belief or doctrine contrary to sound spiritual Holy Ghost truth is not part of God’s kingdom and is not God’s will and curses our understanding of our righteous position in Christ. I can’t help wondering sometimes how are all of God’s children going to spend eternity together and be at peace with all the many doctrines and add on’s and take a way’s being preached today in different pulpits.

The denomination atmosphere has totally separated God family into factions and have become mediators between God and mankind and has replaced the presence of God through the Holy Ghost. We must really understand that only Jesus Christ saves and anybody preaching that gospel and people accepting that fact will become born again if they do it by faith. God is to get the glory and you don’t have to be in a church pew to get saved. As I said earlier I got saved in my auto mobile. I am not against assembling for Christian fellowship. I look for every opportunity to come into agreement whether it is with one person or many. However, it must be in Christ’s name that we meet and not in denominational teachings which is becoming more prevalent today then ever and we wonder why the body of Christ has with drawn from their authority to minister the Lord Jesus Christ every where they go; for this is God’s perfect will for his people. I personally don’t mind debating with people with every opportunity God gives me and looking forward to share a word of wisdom to people who are opposing themselves. This includes in church or any of my travels daily where ever I go meaning the store, doctors office, family or friend’s homes or where ever. Scripture tells us that we are all to do the work of an Evangelist. A true born again believer who says they love God lives with a God consciencness 24/7. Some times in talking to people they give me the impression that they have God in their pocket and pull Him out and use Him as a hole card to impress people. It is absolutely amazing to run into born again believers who attend church regularly and don’t know who they are in Christ.

I recently was visiting with my aunt and her family and had a two hour conversation with a cousin I had not seen for eight years. He and his wife had five beautiful children who were very well behaved and are wonderful people. As I said earlier our whole family was Catholics at one time and the majority of us are now born again believers. My Cousin still attends the Catholic Church and teaches Catholicism at the church to new converts. In our conversation he stated “are you trying to get me to leave the Catholic Church.”

I was taken back by that statement because I was trying to give him a gift of my relationship with the Lord all these years and he spent two hours trying to convert me to Catholicism. I am convinced that the devil has put a mind set on people that they have to have a leader or denomination to belong to because they think that this is God’s will for their lives. He stated that it was the Catholic Church which sanctioned the bible and proclaimed it to be the word of God. I told him that was great and agreed with him. However, they started out believing the true word and have now added so many of their own doctrines that it can no longer be recognized as the true word. This is something we all have to guard against because the flesh distorts the truth and gets lazy in its pursuit in hungering after God’s Righteous Spirit.

It grieves me to tears sometimes when I see this spirit of control robbing God’s children of the freedom of choices because of their judgmental set of rules and regulation mentality in their thinking and not being able to make free will choices to love God or not to love God. Most people in one way or another tell me that they have the Lord however; I don’t believe the Lord has them. So what is God’s perfect will? Scripture tells us as we have fellowship with the Lord and with one another, this will make us whole. However, we must be gathering in Christ’s name and not leaning towards our own understanding.

Heaven and earth are two real places. We must know how God’s kingdom operates in heaven if, we are going to be his hand extended to the oppressed people of the world and create a heavenly atmosphere here. We must believe that we can have a vision and plan by God and that this can really happen if we ask and trust Him to show us how his kingdom works.

6. Give us this day our daily bread: The first five items we have dealt with are pertaining to our relationship with God and understanding His thoughts and knowing our rights to approach His presence with confidence for the petitions that we need, so we can walk in confidence as a born again believer. We now have to deal with our needs being met and how this is going to be accomplished. In John 6:35 Jesus responds to the people He was talking to by telling them I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on me will never thirst any more.” In Matthew 4:4 Jesus told the Devil when He was tempted by him to make stones into bread to feed Him self because He was hungry after fasting for forty days and nights that “man should not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” I am not trying to be so heavenly minded and being of no earthly good here. We have all kinds of needs in our lives including food, shelter, healthy relationships a need for self esteem which are all rolled up in living in a blanket of being loved only as our Heavenly Father can and is more then willing to do if we will let Him. With out God in a person’s life holding the reins and feeding our souls, man will continue to look for love in all the wrong places. God made man with an inner desire to be fulfilled and only God Himself can fill that void in mankind.

Jesus is the way the truth and our lives who brings us to God’s throne of grace to eat of all that God has in His store house to meet our every need. Thus we became born again from above, became God’s children and we have the privilege and right to sit at God’s table. However, we must cling too and lean our whole personality on trusting in our Heavenly Father’s provisions by having child like faith in His promises which can only happen if we are having a very real fellowship with the Holy Ghost daily. He is the one that reminds us of our righteous position in God’s sight and gives us the vision of God’s purposes and knowledge of how to navigate in God’s kingdom to meet our daily needs. So we must be persuaded that the first bread we need is Jesus Christ as being the Savior of our lives. He not only saves us from an eternity in hell but gives us the right to be nourished daily by the Holy Ghost where we really receive the abundant life that Jesus promised us.

By our daily fellowship with the Holy Ghost as we allow Him to teach us how God’s kingdom works, our mind begins to be transformed as God gives us a higher and more clear meaning of His way of supply our needs. Unless we allow this transformation to take place in our thinking, our goals and planning of how we are to have our needs met will not be experienced as stated in Proverbs where is says, “The blessing of the Lord is indeed sweet and there is no toiling in it.” In Luke 5:4-11 we have a story where the apostles were out fishing all night and they had caught no fish.  These verses state. “Jesus when He had stooped speaking to the crowd, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul. And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of your word, I will lower the nets [again]. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were [at the point of] breaking, they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and take hold with them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying; depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was gripped with bewildering amazement [allied to terror], and all who were with him, at the haul of fish which they had made; and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon (Peter). And Jesus said to Simon, Have no fear; from now on you will be catching men! And after they had run their boats on shore, they left everything and joined Him as His disciples and sided with His party and accompanied Him.”

We see here that Peter recognized that he had to have a heart change so he could receive from the Lord. Not only that but many others that were with him also decided that they needed to change. you also notice that they all made a decision to follow Jesus and He provided enough food for all of them.

This concept of being rich and prosperous as I believe the majority of the churches are teaching is not being built on faith as scripture tells us in Heb. 11:1 which states “Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.” There is no faith hope if a person can‘t recognize the voice of the Spirit who is the one that speaks into our ear and brings us hope in the storms and battles of life. That‘s why “ Roman 10:17 states, “So faith comes by hearing what is told, and what is heard comes by the preaching of the message that came from the lips of Christ, the messiah Himself.” This living gospel can still be heard with our spiritual ears because the Holy Ghost is alive in us speaking what Jesus said when He walked the earth.

Paul says in Rom. 8:24-28 “For it was in this hope that we were saved. But hope the object of which is seen is not hope. For how can one hope for what he already sees? But if we hope for what is still unseen by us, we wait for it with patience and composure. So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance. And He who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will. We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to His design and purpose.”

Paul also states in 11 COR. 5:7 “We walk by faith (that is we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man‘s relationship to God and divine things, with a trust and holy fervor: thus we walk by faith and not by sight.” Paul finally tells us in Gal. 5:6 “If we are in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything but only faith activated and expressed and working through love.

Circumcision in the Old Testament was a ritual that is still followed today in the Jewish Religion that marked you as being a follower of God. God honored that back then but now Jesus is our only way to be saved from a eternal torment in hell and us having a abundant life in our kingdom walk with our Heavenly Father today with the privilege of knowing God on a personal basis as being our Father. We do not capture the favor of God by trying to keep his commandments or any laws and regulations.

In John 14:23, Jesus says, “If a person really loves me, he will keep my commandments.” Blind obedience without love will maintain order, but does nothing to enhance a loving relationship. Blind obedience without recognizing its value is destined for failure. Love gives the reason to obey and gives us value and worth. The hungering heart will seek with Passion the kingdom of God. The complacent heart will grow restless in his walk with the Lord.

It is so true as to the many people that have crossed my path these many years that they come from dysfunctional families and the children have had no fatherly example or a totally dysfunctional father that didn’t have a clue as being a role model of safety and security in representing God the Father to His children. I was fortunate that even though my father didn’t get saved till a year before he died I had the security to know that I was safe and secure from the storms of life and was taught how to take care of my self. The older I get the more thankful I am to have been so protect and cared for as I see and hear what sick and gruesome things the devil is doing to destroy the families of today. We must rebuild the families of America if we are going to raise our children to know and depend on continuing in our motto “In God we trust”

When we ask God for our daily bread we are asking for Him to reveal to us and give us a persuaded attitude that it can only be in us trusting in His provision to care for us and for us to not lean to our own reasoning and be fearful and we need to learn how to rest from our laboring. We need to be reminded daily by the Holy Ghost that God really cares for us and He will give us ideas and ways to prosper because it is His great desire to provide for his children not only their physical needs but the vision He is giving us as to our potential of doing the works of Jesus in our arenas of life.

7. Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors. The Greek word for debts is opelie: meaning, living in bondage of feeling obligated or having an attitude of I ought to do this or that and having a guilty conscience that you are always dealing with in your mind and heart. This debt attitude is a living entity of demonic activity keeping a born again believer as a slave to his or her shame based nature that Jesus died for on the cross. When this spirit controls our thinking in any way, we lose the freedom of choice given to us by God to do His bidding in our lives or to not do it. Scripture tells us that we have the freedom to choose each day who we will serve. God is looking for people who willing want to love on Him for the pure pleasure of the relationship of His company which makes us experience His totally forgiving nature and a living continuation of the spiritual conversion of a personal witness of our salvation experience at the cross.

We know that only Jesus saves. And only born again believers have the true capacity to have their debts forgiven because Jesus was the perfect example of laying down His life and forgiving us when we were still sinners and a slave to our fleshly cravings. Jesus is not only our poster boy picture of the cross as a physical example to show us what forgiveness is but we received all of Jesus characteristics with power to forgive when we became born again. Since God is His Father, God is also our Father and we both have our Father’s characteristics with the power to exercise forgiveness in all situations.

As we grow in our physical bodies over our years of life, we must allow the spirit of forgiveness to grow in our spirit just as the oxygen we breathe keeps us physically alive. We must learn to forgive as Jesus does which in turn keeps us free to allow God to love on us and we can love ourselves. This creates a peaceable spirit with in us that gives the Holy Ghost the atmosphere to keep our heart healthy where the issues of life are formed and our decision making takes place. If we are going to experience kingdom living we must live in God’s Righteous Spirit of forgiveness with peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

True love from God is filtered down to us and then we can give it to others and it has no obligations attached to it in any form. Jesus freely gave up His life at the cross while we were a slave to a weak will that had no power to walk in obedience to God and we were in bondage to our flesh to do the Devils bidding and enjoying our sinful ways for a season.

It is us living in a forgiving spirit that keeps us able to have a receiving spirit from God.

8. And lead (bring) us not into temptation. When I first really concentrated on this verse I thought who in their right mind would think that God Himself would lead his children into temptation. For someone to believe that, it can only mean that they do not have a clue as to the nature of a loving father. Now Jesus told them to pray like this because He was well aware of the temptations that we would experience in our lives and how the devil makes us think that God is the creator of a tormenting or getting even mentality that causes people to doubt His love for mankind.

For a number of years I sold life and home insurance. On all of the policies they have a clause that says we do not pay claims by disasters that are caused by acts of God. As we stated earlier we all are walking in the shadow of death because the devil is the principle ruler of the heavenlies of this planet because this was where he was cast down when he was thrown out of heaven for his prideful rebellion against God. A born again believer must recognize this principle. Scripture tells us that the devil goes around like a roaring lion seeking those who he may devour. A Christian who is word poor and not disciplined to meditate in the word day and night will have a difficult time distinguishing between acts of God and acts of Satan. Jesus told them to pray in this way because He knew that people would be hard pressed to discipline themselves to read and study the word and they would think that He was the one they thought was inflicting them with difficult situation and blame Him for their dilemmas.

Just yesterday I heard on television a well known Pastor tell his congregation that God inflicts infirmities on His people because this will cause them to seek Him more so they can mature. These types of statements when spoken over God’s kids curses their understanding of the loving Father that is always on our side. In the book of Job we know that the trial they he went through was intense because we know that he lost all of his children and cattle and had sores all over his body.

He lived in mental torment trying to reason why all these things befell him. In Job 29:2 he states his disappointment when he makes the statement. “ Oh that I were as in the months of the past when God was watching over me” Of coarse when his trial ended he was richer in the knowledge of God’s ways because he makes this statement in chapter 42:5-6 “ I have heard you only by the hearing of my ear: but now my ( spiritual ) eyes sees you. Therefore I loathe my words and abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

This dust and ashes statement means that he had been enlightened and now knew how to throw off this mistaken idea of God being the one causing these trials in his life. He could now through his new educated view of God no longer be hindered with ideas that had no value in God’s kingdom that had a dust and ashes substance. It is understandable why so many born again believers are spiritually bankrupt because of their misunderstanding of God’s plans and purposes for their lives. People who live bankrupt I call living in a Job’s syndrome. A syndrome shows signs and symptoms that together are characteristics that are indicative of a specific disease or other disorder. Let’s realize that our physical manifestations in life start in the spiritual world in our thinking between God’s thoughts or our own thoughts. We as God’s children must understand the spiritual world that we were born into the day we made Jesus our savior and we must now make Him our Lord so we can judge rightly.

9. But deliver us from the evil one. We can’t have it two ways here. If we believe God could lead us into temptation in any way how can we ask Him to deliver us from evil. We must be persuaded that God is always on our side and as born again believers we must have a passion hungering and thirsting after our righteous position in Christ with tenacity and equipped with the word of God; so that signs and wonders follow us as scripture tells us they will. We are equipped with all the things necessary to be delivered from the evil one. He is already defeated however, when we are not functioning in our anointed discernment that was given to us at salvation, we live with a stupor over our spiritual mind. This type stupor causes us to live in a rote attitude which results in us not having a quick understanding of the Holy Spirit’s meaning and we never learn what it is to speak a word of wisdom in the season or moment when we need it to fight the devils lies and deceptions.

I have found at times that I had to speak a word of reproof or rebuke to family or people who opposed themselves that was not easy because; it was received with offense and not honored at the time it was given. It is nice to be accepted and respected however when pressure is brought to bear the real truth of what is in a person’s heart comes out and being called on by God to break a spiritual puss bag sore in a person’s inner man is a difficult and emotional battle at all times to deal with. We must know at all costs who we are in Christ and be available to respond to the Holy Ghost in obedience at all times whether it is welcomed by people or not.

God the Father is looking for His children to stand in the gap for mankind and be able to speak a word of prophetic wisdom to those who cross their path and are weary of their everyday struggle to survive the cares of life. We must be able to hold up a Godly standard and this can only take place if we are well versed in God’s word. All born again people are ministers of the gospel and anointed and gifted to do the work of the ministry in their arena of life. It is us having a vision and the knowledge of how to operate in the spiritual world with our anointing that delivers us from evil. The best way to be delivered from evil is by us having a powerful offense. When Jesus was lead into the wilderness by the Holy Ghost, Satan came and tempted Him when He was at His weakest point. As you can see from scripture the only way Jesus was delivered from doing evil was by Him knowing the word of God and speaking it to the devil. This life that we live in is our wilderness walk and the only way the Holy Ghost can lead us is if, the word of God is deep down in our hearts which gives us the potential to reach a sick and dying world.

10. For you are the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” As you can see it says we must operate in God’s kingdom with His power and have the presence with in us to constantly give Him glory and honor at all times. There must come a conclusion with in us of being totally persuaded that we have once and for all surrendered ourselves by bowing our heart and bending our knee to His divine kingship and know that there is no other god or authority liken unto Him. There must come a amen ( so be it ) with in our being that is heart felt if, we are going to be tenacious in our pursuit to complete God’s course that He set down before us from the foundation of the world.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:12 tells us “the kingdom of God suffers violents and the violent take it by force.” We are not talking about the type of violents that Peter the Apostle did at the Garden of Gethsemane when he cut off the centurion’s ear because they came to take Jesus to Pontius Pilot to be crucified. There must come with in the born again believer a continual revelation of the spiritual world so that it becomes more real then the natural world. It’s like walking in the desert and seeing a figure in the distance that looks like a vibrating unclear mirage that becomes clearer as we come closer and this must take place in the spiritual world also as we have fellowship with the Holy Ghost and get comfortable with being a child of God our Father. It is obvious that when you hear let us pray and the people in the gathering pray the Our Father, I doubt if they have the awareness of what they are saying. It has become a rote word with no passion with meaning.

In11Peter 2:9 Peter states. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation; [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” It is as we grow in our understanding of this statement that we will have the fierce tenacity to pursue and be like minded with God our Father who will guard our heart and mind to all adversity that comes against us to prevent God’s design for our lives. There is no way for me to end this article because I have a inner persuasion and have learned to live with a expectation of a visitation for God to show up any time and give me a hug and greater revelation of His love for me. I pray you get very hungry for God’s presence so that you can be like David the King who let goodness and mercy follow him all the days of his life.
