: Our life of waiting on the Lord:
Isaiah 40: 31 states, “But those who wait for the Lord who expect, look for, and hope in Him shall change and renew their strength
and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up close to God as eagles mount up to the sun; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint
or become tired.”
Heb 12:1-3 states. “ Let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight)
and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and
steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, Looking away from all that will distract
to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher
[bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross,
despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Just think of Him who endured
from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with
your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.”
Webster’s Dictionary describes wait as some one who is staying in an anticipated action or event.
The word wait in the Hebrew is qaveh: meaning, to be bound together. The day we accepted Jesus as our Savior;
we became bound together with His Spirit and our spirit becoming one. Nothing in this world or in the world to come can ever
nullify this symbiotic miracle that took place which is a cooperative, mutually beneficial relationship between two people.
This relationship of us walking with God must be by us allowing the Holy Ghost showing us how to become aware of his presence
and if we are going to respond to His leadings; God must be the first love
of our life with passion and total purpose. What is amazing to me over the
last forty some years of endeavoring to follow His leadings; it is me experiencing the very essence of His person that empowers
me to hunger and thirst after Him at all times. The Apostle Paul states this in Gal. 2:20. “I have been crucified
with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I
who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live
in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave
Himself up for me.”
The revelation of what Paul said here was given to him by the Holy Ghost as he participated in his symbiotic
relationship with Him. There are no rules or commandments that we can follow in our own strength that cause us to die to self
and let God become our life like this. When God is not our first love with passion; you can not say as Paul “it is
no longer I that live but Christ who lives in me.”
The reason being; you are leaning towards your own understanding of how the kingdom of God works and you
are substituting your righteous walk in Christ with a fleshly behavior which acts as a substitute for Godly fulfillment. I
have come to believe because of the many people that I have met that because of the bruising and hurts of the past; they are
in bondage and living deep in denial in areas of their life that unless God works a miracle they will make heaven their home
however, they will stay a captive of not being able to walk with a open transparency before the Lord. This is the reason scripture
tells us to get rid of the weight that so easily besets you.
In the day in which we are living; I have never seen the things that the devil is using to entice the world
as to not putting Jesus Christ first and foremost in their lives. We must stay protected by allowing the Holy Ghost to keep
us restored and focused on our heavenly calling as God’s children.
The word restoration means, to be brought back to an original or earlier condition. It also means
to bring health and strength and a true understanding of consciousness. When our consciousness is healthy, we are able to
think and be mentally aware of our inner thoughts and feelings while being influenced by our outward circumstances meaning
social, financial, moral or similar circumstances. This process is common to all mankind. However, not all people are consciously
aware of this process. No one can escape these influences in their daily travels in what ever arena they are living in. Scripture
tells us that because of events that are taking place in the world today, we are living in the last days before Jesus returns
to this earth. Scripture also tells us “will Jesus find anyone still operating in this process of wanting to be
restored to their original condition when, He returns.”
Because I am in my sixties, I have seen the changes that have taken place over these many years. The technologies
and fast paced life styles have increased to unparallel proportions. Everybody is scurrying around going here and there like
ants, which have their own set course of action given to them at birth. I believe that this next statement applies
to all mankind that being; we have become to busy with daily chores and too many of us have lost the ability to wonder and
ponder the make up of the universe around us and the unique awareness of our true nature. I have never in my lifetime seen
and heard such a warfare of ideas and a bombardment of pressures trying to desensitize our sensibilities to think independently. This causes us to not
provide the time to apprehend the circumstances going on in our lives and the world around us because; we do not spend the
time to seek God in the secrete place where the Christian is to have fellowship with the Lord on a daily bases.
This causes us to be brainwashed by an anti-christ spirit and not get in touch with the God of the Universe
and know Him on a one to one bases. We have the news media not telling the news, but interpreting it and talk show programming
devaluing human beings by exposing depraved behavior and the audiences lapping it up. The constitution is being amended to
change it’s meaning as intended and we are slowly driving the consciousness of God and of His directions out of our
society and in the born again church in many areas; they are teaching the doctrines of man.
In the Roman days in the arena, they were killing Christian’s physical bodies. In the days that we
live in now, our minds are being destroyed and our concept of morality is being changed moment by moment. Jesus tells us that,
He came to earth to sacrifice His life so that we would have the power and ability to live with peace and joy if, we would
guard our hearts, where the issues of life and death are formed.
Our restoration can only be built on the main foundation of Jesus righteous loving act
as being the Son of God who came to die on a cross so that our relationship with God could be restored as God intended from
the beginning of time. There is no other name given among men where we can be restored to a healthy relationship
with God and be able to enjoy a secure loving relationship with Him. Unless we come to realize our fallen nature due to Adam
and Eve’s deception in the Garden of Eden, man will continue to do his own thing and he will live with the philosophy
that, anything goes. With all the churches going up and all the aspirations of the gospel being preached to the whole world,
there are still people falling between the cracks because a big majority of the born again church is still playing church
and are not functioning in the market place with the anointing of God which He gave them the day they became saved. Sunday
and Wednesday church services are not where the action is. It services a purpose of empowering one to know their position
in Christ if,
The doctrine of our righteous position in Christ is being preached.
However, once we get out of our diaper stage and become young men and women in the Lord, we will want to
go out into the streets of our arena of life and make a statement against wickedness where ever we find it. When we do not
know what it means to wait on God; a Christian does not understand their position in Christ, is misinformed and one who lives in ignorance and has no power to comprehend the urgency of the moment.
When you live like this, the process of having a healthy consciousness and using the new mind we received
the day we became born again never comes into play in our understanding of God’s purposes.
When this happens, the born again believer lives his life in meaningless endeavors of chores of life and never
has a clear cut understanding of his purpose as God’s ambassador to the lost and hurting.
Now it is easy to understand people who have never given their life to Jesus Christ and have become born
again. Scripture says, “They are sinners and are a slave to their impulses to do their own thing and violate there
own selves with sinful behavior.” When you have not had your nature changed and have the Holy Spirit living
in your being, you do not belong to the family of God. Since God made people, they were made to live for eternity with Him.
Unsaved people also live by this thinking process of their inner thoughts verses them being influenced by there outward environment.
Unless they hear the Gospel and dedicate their lives to Jesus Christ, they will spend eternity in hell. There are slews
of people that I have met who think this statement is insanity and that God never would allow this to happen. We all need
to realize that God does not invade our lives and dictate to us terms of do it or else. Now again I can understand unsaved
people believing like this. However, when born again believers think like this, it is a scary staggering thought and wonderment
if in their assemblies their righteous position in Christ is really being communicated.
This gospel that God gave to the born again believers which are His children is not even fully being taught
in the born again churches of today. It is a serious thing to see born again people being taught denominational doctrines
that teach that, there are things that they have to do to keep their salvation and that Jesus death on the cross was not enough.
When we teach denomination rules of conduct, our denominations become abominations.
For us to be restored to the original condition that God wants, we have to be led by the Holy Spirit who
has the words of life and is the teacher to bring us back to wholeness. So the question is, who are we going through this
conscious thought process with, is it the Holy Ghost who is our instructor or are we leaning to our own understanding and
having our morality barometer being brainwashed by the changing morality of the world around us. Scripture tells us that God
says, “My thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways.” If we are going to be restored,
we must be searching for a higher wisdom than our own. This is the key to healthy living. This wisdom must be built on God’s
word and nothing else. Only the word of God being planted deep with in our being can restore us to a place of safety and quit
rest in the chaotic state, which we are experiencing in the world right now.
Now scripture tells us that Jesus saves, however we must also understand that He sanctifies
us from an eternity in hell and a life of living in a hell environment here on earth. The word for sanctification in
the original Greek is hagiozo: and when we live in our sanctified state; God’s personal presence gives us a mental
awareness by the Holy Ghost who tells us of our holy purified state that God sees us in. We are seen by God
as being blameless, innocent and perfect in His sight. Now remember we are talking about an inner reasoning
of conscious thought that we need to be experiencing daily with a living God in the person of the Holy Ghost that is restoring
us so we can have a healthy relationship with God. It is this relationship that delivers us from a shame based guilty conscience
nature we inherited at birth from our gggggggg- grandfather Adam.
Scripture tells us that a man should not lean to his own understanding because; his decisions will bring
him death and destruction. When he does this, he becomes molded to the environment and the influences around him and he is
not able to communicate and fulfill God’s will for his life. A person that understands his or her sanctified state in
Jesus Christ truly knows how to wait on the Lord and can understand what Paul the Apostle means when he says in Hebrews 14-15.
“We have no permanent city, but we are looking for the one which is to come. Through Him therefore let us constantly
and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruits of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess
and glorify his name.”
Those that wait on the Lord so enjoy their relationship with Him that; there is a joy and thankfulness for
experiencing the pure pleasure of his company. When one waits on Him, they minister to Him with an appreciation that calms
the storms of life and keeps us protected from the spirit of fear and disorder that is taking place in the world today. How
can anyone not love and worship Him for his goodness and mercy.
The Holy Ghost is not only our teacher and comforter; it is our relation with him that keeps us protected
with a hedge around our minds because he is the one who constantly reminds us that we are the sanctified of the Lord. The
ones that are blameless, innocent and perfect in his sight. With the influences and the effort
that mankind is trying to do in its own endeavors trying to right the wrongs of the day, it is hard to believe that God looks
at his children in this manner. If we are really going to believe and follow scripture; we have to come to agreement with
the Holy Ghost’s perception of things.
Paul states in 11 Cor 5:17 “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; and
behold all things have become new.” Only a person who is waiting on the Lord has the ability to
spiritually behold something.
Jesus saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and
mercy, by the cleansing bath of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which He poured out
so richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. And He did it in order that; we might
be justified by His grace by His favor, wholly undeserved,
that we might be acknowledged and counted as conformed to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action, and that we might
become heirs of eternal life according to our hope.
Only those who are waiting on the Lord have the ability to keep their hope strong and be renewed
as the eagle reaching for the sun. The first time we taste and saw the kingdom of God was when we became born again and were
regenerated by the Holy Ghost. This gave us eternal life with God for ever. To now experience our sanctified state while in
this mortal body; we have to become doers of Math 6:33 which states. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his
righteousness and every thing else you need will be added to you.” Hear me well on this next statement. There
can be
no other foundation that can be laid then this scripture after our initial miracle encounter of becoming born again. Our sanctification grows
in strength in our heart and mind as we meditate on the word of God day and night as scripture tells us.
Paul said it very clear and direct when he states in Ephesians 5:25-27 “Christ so loved the church
and gave himself for it. that He might sanctify it with washing of the word, that He might present it to himself a glorious
church, not having any spot and wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and with out blemish.”
Jesus Himself is the
life force of the living word. I hope you have comprehended what I have just said. I am not talking about following rules
here. He is the reason for our salvation and the keeper of our soul till we see him face to face. He is the Author and the
Finisher of our faith walk in Him. When one does not know how to wait on the Lord; their thought life can not be delivered
from a mentality of focusing on their failures and trials of life. In turn, this keeps them with a mentality of not recognizing
that they are with out spot and wrinkle and unblemished in God’s sight. We must become settled in our
spirit and finally come to know that; nothing can pluck us out of God’s
hand.
Paul the Apostle states in Romans 8:35-9:1. “Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love?
Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril
or sword? Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for
the slaughter. Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him who loved us.
For
I am persuaded beyond
doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things
to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of
God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. I AM speaking the truth in Christ. I am not lying; my conscience [enlightened and prompted]
by the holy Ghost.”
We see here that Paul had to be going through a constant process of being persuaded by the Holy Ghost that
God was for him and no matter what ever came against him could prosper and stop him from fulfilling his particular call that
God had on his life.
A born again child of God will not be able to sustain their particular call by God and be victorious over
the devices of the devil coming against them and fulfill their destiny unless; they become disciplined to wait upon the Lord.
The gospel of the good news is not some hocus pocus quick fix emotional hype or self motivating program made up by mankind.
We are talking about a complete sell out and abandonment on every word that comes out of the mouth of the
Holy Ghost.
In the days that we are living; the devil is going around like a empowered lion doing all with in his power
to completely shut stop up the spiritual ears of the born again family of God from hearing His voice and leadings. It is time
for the children of God to totally commit and lean their entire personality on the mercy and grace of God their Father and
spend time in the throne room where they are called to be priest and kings in His service. Jesus told us “with out
me you can do nothing.” If you feel that you are incomplete and hungry for a relationship with God that you are
searching for and are looking for a home of rest; trust me; it is there for you if; you must make God the first love of your life and wait and minister to him.
