The basic foundation of our seeking is defined in Matt. 6:33 which Jesus states. "Seek
first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things will be added to you."
The word seeks in the
Greek Concordance is zeteo: meaning, to have a desire to worship God and ask him how His kingdom operates. God's kingdom
is not a democracy where people vote and have power to do and operate on what they want or not want to believe. God is a King
and His ultimate decrees are what operate His kingdom. With all the denominations we have preaching every doctrine under the
sun, you are lead to believe that he sanctions every one of them however; this can not be any farther from the truth. God
honors what His faith dictates in His word with ultimate authority and nothing else. So we see that asking and seeking work
hand in hand together as we go on a quest to discover this new life we received when we became God's children.
Jesus told Nicodemus in John chapter three that to go
to heaven and participate in the kingdom they must first see it and then enter it. To see the kingdom a person must be born
again with a second birth other then their physical birth by God's Righteous Spirit. He says that this initial miraculous
encounter with God; illuminated our understanding that there is a spiritual world that we could not experience until we made
Jesus our Savior and we become born again through God's sperm. This is what made us see and taste God's kingdom for
the first time. Let me say before I go on that unless a person has been born again and had this experience with a witness
of it in their being; I would question that God is their Heavenly Father. Only Jesus is the way, the truth and there is no
other way of obtaining eternal life.
People have said to me, "that doesn't
sound fare. What about all the other people on the earth, what happens to them? A loving God would not send any one to hell."
Now here we have our King's decrees coming into conflict with our own reasoning. What does God's word have to say
about this?
Jesus in John 3:16-21 said. "For God so loved the world that
he gave His only begotten Son, that who ever puts their total trust in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God
did not send His Son into the world to condemn it; but through Him it would become saved. Who ever believes on Him is not
condemned: but he that doesn't believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the only begotten Son of God.
Now this is the condemnation, light has come into the world and men have loved darkness rather then coming into the light;
because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil, hates and does not want to come into the light because his deeds
will be reproved. However, he that seeks truth wants to come into the light that His deeds may be clearly seen by him and
that they are being orchestrated by God."
When we are going through this
process of asking, seeking and knocking; we must become transparent and unafraid to come to God with openness and with a wanting
to walk in God's deepest light. Man kind born again or not can not handle the brilliancy of God's light all at once
because it would kill them. People who are not born again are not God's children in the first place and as a born again
believer being one of God's children it is as we have our childish ways exposed by the Holy Ghost in our Christian walk
that delivers us from any stinking thinking and as we become more Christ like; we can become more exposed to the light of
God with out being blinded to receiving the truth of the God News Gospel. (Which is God's unmerited favor.)
This word evil that this verse describes is a malevolent spirit and stronghold in people's lives
and takes on different forms and degrees of harm that wants to inflict pain and death on people, and its ultimate goal is
that people end up going to hell for eternity. It is my contention that a person has to be possessed or oppressed and imprisoned
by the devil in some way to not want to walk and experience the love of the Lord at all times. When Jesus prayed the Our Father
in the New Testament; He reminded them when they asked Him how to pray that; they ask God to deliver them from all evil. That
means that even after we become born again and our initial experience in Christ that; this evil spiritual entity is still
going to harass us and we must know how to be constantly be delivered from darkness and continue to pursue the light of God's
counsel.
I hope you who are reading this are participating and recognizing that
what we are talking about has nothing to do with our good works, making sure we go to church, pay our tithes or anything else
that we are doing to seek God's or peoples approval to maintain some semblance of Christian living. God please deliver
us from all that and focus on what being a Christian is all about.
I have no
problem with all that other stuff however; our spiritual walk is another thing all together and it is a relationship with
power in the Holy Ghost and a walk in the spirit world of God and the devil. There are different rules for this walk and we
must not be ignorant of the consequences of our choices. You can not act on the scripture that tells us to choose this day
who we will serve; the Lord or the devil if; you do not really know what choices you have because; you are ignorant of God's
decrees for your life.
Now Jesus went on to tell Nicodemus that after we have
this born again experience; we then have to enter the kingdom of God. Enter is a verb and an action word of participation.
That is why a born again child of God must be going through this process of asking, seeking and knocking because; it is the
process of discovery and learning how to actively take part in moving in God‘s kingdom. We must be functioning in God's
Righteous Spirit if we have a passion to live the abundant life as God intended. Righteousness is not us thinking in right
and wrong decision making with a judgmental attitude. Only God is to be the true judge of our thoughts and actions.
If we look at the word Righteous in the Greek Concordance it means that, God looks at His children
the same way He looks at His only begotten Son Jesus, that being; He sees us as blameless, free from evil and set apart unto
Him as His children. Now this causes our mind to have a dilemma. How are we to believe this when we feel that we are not complete
yet and have failure and faults to deal with in our lives? To the natural mind this sounds like a contradiction. Here again
we have to make a choice to believe God or lean towards our own understanding. Remember this is a government ruled by God
not a democratic system of government based on the principle of majority decision-making.
This
has and will always be the conflict in our seeking after God as the Holy Ghost gets all the darkness out of our thinking and
shows us how to walk in God's constant counsel of His wisdom and light. The majority of the born again church still teaching
that we are still sinners and not defining our sainthood in Christ has no clue as to how God as a loving parent sees and accepts
His children. Does an infant or a baby who can't walk properly on their two feet or who are still messing their diaper
or is still having a problem eating with utensils being condemned and judged by its parents as a sinner who is incomplete
and intentionally trying to walk in disobedience. Loving parents do not condemn their children, but with loving care and patience
they continue to nurture and strengthen their children so that they can be the best they can be functioning in the gifts and
purposes ordained by God in their lives.
How we view ourselves whether to be a
sinner or saint will determine the quality of life we can have with God. Scripture tells us that all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God. A sinner from a non-saved view is a person who still has a sin-based nature, is a slave to their
sins, and is headed for an eternity in hell. From a born again view, these are people erring, missing the mark, losing their
allotment and not sharing in a prize. These are two totally opposite views. Now when we talk about being a sinner the first
thought that crosses our mind is, we have done something wrong and God is displeased with us. However, when we govern our
lives by this concept or special rules by our own evaluations of ourselves, as far as God is concerned this does not justify
us as being pure in His sight.
We are pure in His sight only because; Jesus through
the Holy Ghost lives in us and when God the Father sees us, He sees His first born Son JESUS. This is not a statement by a
person justifying his behavior but; the word of God as God sees things. The free will that God gave us gives us the ability
and right to believe this or not to believe what I have written here. Personally I have been and am constantly being encouraged
by the Holy Ghost daily to believe God's press reports about me then to be brainwashed by the devil and other people who
really don't know God very well and them trying to make me believe their press reports about me. The God who I follow
does not put demands on me but; gives me the freedom to choose to live in love or not. He is a loving parent that has persuaded
me since I have tasted His goodness to carefully walk in fear and trembling in His protected shadow with a great need with
in me to not miss one word of warning or appreciation from His lips.
HEAR ME ON
THIS; if you are a child of God; He wants with passion as a jealous lover to do the same for you.
This is what we come to recognize as we go through our seeking after him and what strengthens our resolve
and holding power of love; that secures our souls from fear and dread.
The reason
we have to be alert and walk carefully in our seeking of God's counsel is because; there is a spirit of beguilement that
Satan uses on God's kids that they have a hard time recognizing. This causes them to come to God as a second rate citizen
grabbling before Him with a woe is me attitude. What we actually do is act like we have to do penance for our behavioral childish
actions begging God to have mercy on us. Rather then approaching his throne with praise and a thankful heart; we try to clean
ourselves up because we have been mesmerized by the devil's devices to believe we have to earn His favor. This type of
thinking is being preached in the majority of the born again churches of today. We will now go on to the meaning of knocking.
