we see that we have to first ask to receive something. And then we have to seek
in order to find something and now we have to knock to have something opened to us. It sounds to me that; we have to be on
a quest that God intended for all of His children to understand and we must be actively involved in it. In James 1:25 James defines this quest for us when he says. " He who looks into the faultless
law of liberty and stays faithful to it and continually looks into it, not being a heedless listener who forgets, but an active
doer ( who obeys), he shall be blessed in his doing in his life of obedience." The real issue is, are we knocking on
the right door with passion and the authority as a child of God and do we understand the freedom we have to expect and believe
that; God will keep His promises to us because; He is not like men who lie. When the born again believer does not have the
confidence or understands their righteous position in Christ, they have no liberty.
A
born again believer that is not being delivered from looking at themselves with a sinner mentality and still judge themselves
as not being faultless in God‘s eyes; has no liberty and spiritual eyes and ears working in their life and, they are
not actively participating with the Holy Ghost; who is our teacher and comforter that is the only one that can walk us through
God's kingdom and show us how it works. What can be more tragic and debilitating then being ignorant of God's true
love and in this condition as a child of God? The faith of Christ that we are to live by that motivates the anointing that
constantly abides with in us; is empowered by us understanding our position in Christ as God sees us; a Saint not a sinner.
For me when I pray or meditate on scripture I think in pictures. I can't explain it; I just go
with the flow. For years I pictured my self trying to get into the throne room of God and knocking on the throne room doors
until my knuckles bled and I could not get the doors to open. Then as I began to understand kingdom principles a little, when
I did try to have a audience with God my Father; I had to make sure I was cleaned up and had my tuxedo on. However; what I
really want to do is be an innocent little kid who can interrupt the festivities of heaven and burst on the scene and jump
up into Papa God's lap and feel His strong arms around me and ask me how my day went and tell me that I am a good and
faithful son in spite of all the battles that we as Christians are going through on the earth. I am convinced that if we are
going to knock correctly; we must have a child like attitude.
My early years were
ones that focused on family and I was brought up with a feeling of great security. I always had plenty to eat and felt safe.
If I had any needs and my parents were not there for me to take care of them, I had aunts and uncles that would step in and
filled in for my parents. I was raised with the spirit of hospitality and our house was always filled with friends or neighbors
eating at our table. My dad had many friends and at Christmas time; I would go with my dad to visit the old folks he knew
and he would bring with him gifts to give to these people and he was always welcomed and appreciated.
Even though we did not know the Lord and were born again in those days; God was at work in our lives and planning
to send a man into my life and tell me the story of Jesus and I became born again and led my whole family to the Lord. When
I was a kid; I had a taste of what real family security was like and I long to find a place of comfort and security like that
again. My mother and father and all of my aunts and uncles have gone on to heaven now; because God saved all them too; through
my wife and my witnessing to them about Jesus; and I have had to learn how to raid my Heavenly Father's ice box now when
I get hungry because; my parents are gone. I have spent my whole Christian life being persuade by my Heavenly Father that
when the storms of life get absolutely terrifying at times; to cast all my care on Him because He truly cares for me. Through
out the gospels of Matt., Mark, Luke, and John; Jesus used the reference that we had to be children if we wanted to be walking
in His grace and righteous Spirit.
In Matthew 18:1-4 we have an encounter with
Jesus disciples asking Him "who is the greatest in the kingdom of God. And Jesus called a little child over to himself
and set him in the middle of the people that had congregated with him. He then said, truly I say unto you, except you have
your character changed and become as a little child, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. Who ever will humble himself
as a little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven and whoever receives a little child like this in my name;
He also receives me." We said earlier that the word enter was an action word of participation in God's kingdom. Only
a child like attitude of trust and feeling totally accepted by God has the power at work in them to have doors open unto them.
There must be a child like attitude operating in us if we intend to pray in Jesus name.
We
have another encounter with children in Mathew 19:13-14 where Jesus was ministering to grown up people and children were brought
to Him so that he could lay his hands upon them and pray however; the disciples reprimanded the children. But Jesus said.
"Leave the children alone! Allow the little one to come to me, and don't forbid or hinder them because; this is what
the kingdom of God is made up of. And He then put His hands on them and went His way."
If
we say we love the Lord; don't we want to feel Jesus hand on us and know that He is always near to comfort and relieve
the fears that children have whether it is being scared of the dark or wanting something to eat or a nice warm bed to sleep
in, or to just know that when fear comes over us in any form; we know how to run to him for our security and wholeness.
Our natural mind or our own flesh I am sorry to say; is over powering a big majority of the born
again church and they are being mesmerized and frustrating the grace of God because; their standard of teaching is telling
people that they have to become sophisticated and act like a grown up and the people are becoming chameleons rather then the
people of God. A chameleon changes colors to fit into its environment.
I was raised
by loving parents who wanted to give the best to their children however; they raised me with the philosophy that I had to
measure up and try harder so that I would be accepted by people. This measuring up attitude can become so seeded in your soul
that; it can dominate a person's life to the point that; one has to be delivered with truly hearing the word of God and
at times if necessary; have the elders of the church lay hands on you that really know how to pray the prayer of faith. Our
faith walk is us allowing the Holy Ghost to speak through us and unless we are surrendering to His leadings; there is no spiritual
maturity. (Think on what I have just said for a while.)
What's really dangerous,
you have to have true discernment to know who to ask to pray for you because; not all people who call themselves elders are
called of God or have matured in righteousness yet to operate in their anointing by faith. I am not trying to be unkind and
make this a difficult thing to understand. However; I want you to see and understand how serious this is when a born again
believer child of God does not know how to understand God's hidden mystery that was hidden from mankind. However; it is
now being revealed to His children who have the mind of Christ living in them; which is able to give them the discernment
between what is noble and God worthy verses man made doctrines that are being taught in far to many born again churches today;
which causes us to wear self-righteous robes which is a religious cover that God considers as dirty filthy rags in His sight.
Let's keep in mind that; a child is a trusting person and not a judge of
behavior and should not start out being weighted down with labors of measuring up to some ones expectation for acceptance.
When preachers or teachers in the body of Christ lay that type of condemnation on God's children; they are committing
spiritual murder on God's kids. (What can be more evil and tragic then this.) The sad thing about this scenario; they
are only passing down what they were taught and the slaughter of God's children goes on.
It is not my intent to stay negative; but the truth has to be exposed where this is taking place. I personally
believe that there is a lot of restoration going on in the body of Christ because; God said He would be dealing heavily in
this area with his children in these last days; before His return.
Jesus went
on to say in Mathew 7:8-12 as an example about asking, seeking and knocking. "What man among you if his son asks bread
from his father; will he give his son a stone. Or if the son asks for fish, will his father give him a serpent. If you being
evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father (perfect as He is) which is in heaven
give good things to them that ask Him. Therefore, all things that you want men to do for you do also for them because; this
is the law and the prophets. Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate that leads to destruction and many are those
who are entering it."
When Jesus uses this word evil, He is not talking about
people having a flat out rebellious attitude living in revelry in them living the Christian life. All acts that are not Holy
Ghost inspired are evil and against God's kingdom laws of giving and receiving. We can have God's kids wanting to
live the Christian life and doing all they can to walk in obedience to God‘s leadings and still be doing evil because
of their misinterpretation of the word of God. There is that word (Enter) again; which is a word of participation in our learning
sessions walking through God's kingdom but; it must be by the Holy Ghost giving us our walk through.
There are three roads that a Christian can walk in his endeavor to live the Christian life. One road
is living with a spirit of timidity and fear. The second is the road of arrogance and self sufficiency as a bully. The third
is the narrow way with; humility and reverence for God and recognizing that in our fleshly thinking; there is no good thing
and the Christian is their worst enemy only because; they do not know how to walk in their righteous Spirit in Christ; as
I have stated in Matthew 6:33. This in turn, hindrance them from receiving all the things that God has in store for all them
who truly love him.
Now this type of understanding of these three roads must
be in place with in the child of God if; they are to experience what Jesus said in Mathew6:24-32. "No one can serve two
masters; he will hate one and love the other, or he will stand by one and despise the other. You can not serve God and trust
in the deceitful riches of money and the possession of them. Therefore, stop being anxious and being worried about your life
as to what you should eat or drink and what to wear. Is not life greater than food and your body more excellent over the cloths
that you wear? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father
keeps feeding them. Are you not more worthy then them?
Which one of you by worrying
and being anxious can add any stature or span to his life. Why should you be continuously anxious about clothes? Consider
the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. Yet Solomon (with all his wisdom and
wealth) was not clothed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green and tomorrow
is tossed into the furnace, will he not clothed you, O man of little faith? Therefore: do not worry and be anxious, saying,
what are we going to have to eat? Or, what are we going to drink, or, what are we going to have to wear. For the gentiles
or the un-saved people wish and crave and diligently seek after all these things; however; YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER WELL KNOWS
THAT YOU HAVE NEED FOR ALL OF THEM."
We see here that; these are all the
needs that we have as we live in this temporary home here on the earth. Jesus came into the world to die on the cross for
us and as we accepted Him as our Savior and became born again people, we need to understand as I have continually said; to
seek first God's kingdom laws and flow in our righteous spirit that we have in our physical bodies. It is us knowing how
to flow in our righteous spirit that drives the anxiety and worry out doors and we learn how rest in His care. These two masters
consist of either trying to survive in the earth by our own efforts with anxiety and worry; or trust and surrender to God's
care and provision as He has promised. For me this has been a sever fight at times and I have had to press into God in my
asking, seeking and knocking; heavily resting on my relationship with the Holy Ghost. This type of trial can be at times a
very debilitating conflict with in us however, who ever puts their trust in God will and can never be disappointed.
In Mathew 14:24-32 we have the story where the Apostles were in their fishing boat and were in the
middle of a windy stormy sea and Jesus came over to them walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea,
they were troubled, saying, "It is a spirit" and they cried out with fear. However, immediately Jesus said, "Be
encouraged; it is I; don't be afraid." Peter answered him and said, "Lord, say something to me so I can know
it is really you and I will come to you walking on the water." And Jesus said "Come." And as Peter stepped
out of the boat; he walked on the water to go to Jesus. However; when he got his eyes on the wild wind; he became afraid;
and began to sink and he cried out saying "Lord save me." And immediately; Jesus stretched out His hand and caught
him and said, "O thou of little faith; why did you doubt?" When Peter and Jesus stepped into the boat the storm
ended and they worshipped Jesus and said' "Now we truly know that you are the Son of God."
If we are truly a disciple of the Lord, then we must be in a relationship of being taught by Him
through the Holy Ghost. It is my contention that Peter knew how to recognize Jesus voice when He told him to step out of the
boat and come to Him. I have found that God will be as real to me as I stay focused on seeking to know His every characteristic
and recognize His distinct voice in my being.
TRUE FAITH thinks the impossible,
believes the impossible and does the impossible.
With out faith;
it is impossible to please God because; with out faith it stops him from answering our cry to Him in what ever need we may
have. I have found that the Lord is relentless and very focused on every need that we have and unending in trying to persuade
us to truly cast our care on Him for He truly cares for us.
I wish I could tell
you that I have arrived and the storms of life are not raging in my own life from time to time. However, I will say as Paul
said in 11Timothy 1:2"I am not ashamed; for I know in whom I have believed in and am persuaded that he is able to keep
that which I have committed unto Him against that day" Our soul can only be persuaded by the Holy Ghost as we have a
true living relationship with God through our asking, seeking and knocking. There has to come a time when all of God's
children have to step out of the boat and run to the roar of their storms of life if, they have a real intent to cast their
care on God their Father. I know to our natural mind this makes no sense however; true faith believes in things not seen yet
by the natural eye. It is my sincere prayer for you and myself that God; makes him self more real to us then; we have ever
known.
!(Lord
we need your help; to have this happen)!
