WORDS OF WISDOM

Allowing God to sow seed

Paul, the Apostle in his book to the Corinthian church says this,” What I am preaching is not my own thinking, but what Jesus Christ put in me. I am only a servant of Christ’s. God, who is the author of all life, has put His truth and life in frail people who can be tempted and are delicate creatures of earth. The reason He does this is so that the greatness of His power can be shown in us and we will realize that it does not come from ourselves.”

If we are to follow Paul’s example, we need to realize that, it is not through any effort of our own that we stand in right standing with God and because of any works; we have done in our own strength. We are righteousness meaning, God has forgiven us and sees us as pure in His sight because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross and that alone. If we really understand this, we can say the same as Paul did, that our inspiration is not coming from our own thinking, but is being imparted in to our thought life by the Holy Spirit, who now lives within us.

It is very important that we remind ourselves every day that God’s idea of Christian living is, seasons of planting and harvesting crops, like a farmer planting seed and reaping a harvest. God being the sower and our mind and hearts are His garden. Over the years I have heard too many teachings just the opposite saying “we have to sow our good works into something and then we will please God.” When we sow our deeds without His direction, you can understand why we have reaped so many bad crops. The first seed that was sown by God was when He sowed His D.N.A. in us when we accepted Jesus into our hearts. Scripture tells us that we became a new creature and now the Holy Spirit lives in us. We need to continue in this process and allow the Holy Spirit to sow seeds of God’s wisdom into our hearts, so we can grow up and show that we are just like Him.

First God had to prepare our hearts to receive the word of salvation. We had to be called by God the Father. God orchestrated this through things we heard and people He brought into our lives and so forth. In order for this to take place, our heart had to be ready to receive it. God never forces Himself on anybody. He first allows circumstances to take place, where we come to the realization that we have a need for Him. If you have unsaved family, keep praying for them. It takes time for God to work in a man’s hearts to get him ready so He can plant the word of salvation in them. When I was saved, I believed God for my whole family and never stopped praying and talking to them. In a matter of five years, they all accepted Jesus as their Savior.

James 1:21 tells us to “get rid of all uncleanness and the rampart outgrowth of wickedness and having an unassuming attitude and behavior with a gentle spirit receive the word which was planted and rooted in your heart. This word contains the power to save us from the consequences of sin in all of our characteristics.

Now I am assuming that if you are reading this, you are born again and have made a decision to seek the Lord with all of your heart. Meaning, you are getting rid of the world’s way of thinking and beginning to think like God.

In Hosea 10:12 it says, “If we sow for ourselves according to righteousness (which is the only thing that puts us in right standing with God.) This attitude will cause us to reap mercy and loving kindness from Him. So break up the uncultivated ground in your heart for it is time to seek the Lord and inquire of and for Him and get His favor, till He comes and teaches us His righteousness which was His plan from the beginning.”

This little word till as I looked it up in the Hebrew has a profound meaning. It does not mean that, God is going to show up next Tuesday, so wait until then and we will have a class on Him teaching us righteousness. The word till is the life of Christ Himself. It means that righteousness is the living Spirit of God and HE wants to flow His spirit through us, just as if we breathe air everyday to stay alive. This process allows our mind and God’s mind to become one. It’s like swimming in the deepest part of the ocean and being saturated with water. We must, if we are to really walk in the spirit as God intended, get a divine revelation of this and understand our permanent and forever relationship with Him. The word sow means to conceive seed, become pregnant, take into our mind and understand.

Let us picture in our minds a farmer throwing seed as He walks through his cornfield planting his crop. That seed will germinate over some time, come to life and will become ears of corn. I know this is a very simple example, but do we realize that it works the same way with our revelation that God gives us of Himself. In the Greek translation, there is an interpretation of an overwhelming intensity that the Lord wants to plant a huge crop of revelation of His Person in His children however, we must be willing and allow Him.

Paul in the book of Romans states, The word or God’s message in Christ is near us and in our hearts and on our lips. If we acknowledge and confess with our lips, that Jesus is Lord and in our hearts believe that God raised Him from the dead. We will be saved. For with the heart a person trusts in and relies on Christ and so is declared righteous and acceptable by God and with his mouth or confession declaring openly, he receives a witness in his spirit of this fact.” Our continual confession of this revelation will increase our awareness of our security in Him.

We see here that the first encounter we had with the Holy Spirit and awareness of God was a hearts crop of confession and understanding in the spirit that, Jesus is alive and we met Him for the first time. This is the core and only foundation that can be planted that will get you to live for eternity with God.

Not only will it get you to live forever with God, but also it is the only way you can continue to mature in the Lord. If we would have never had the initial seed sown that Jesus died for us and forgave us for our sins and acknowledged that. We would not be born again believers today.

The churches of today in many cases are doing a fine job of reaping a crop of lost people and getting them into the kingdom. My concern is, are we having any more seed being sown in our hearts and growing a crop of mature Christians?

In Matthew 15:52 Jesus was saying to his disciples. “Every teacher and interpreter of the scriptures, who has been instructed and trained for the kingdom of God and has become His disciple, is like a householder who brings forth out of his storehouse (heart) treasure that is new and old or fresh and familiar.”

We are doing a lot of preaching on familiar and that is Jesus saves. It is now time for the new and fresh revelation to come and for us to grow up and mature in Christ. God our Father is a visionary. His number one priority is to reveal Himself to His children through the Holy Spirit. He does this by planting His words personally in our hearts if, we are passionately seeking after Him and continually preparing our hearts for receiving it. Let us get off this concept and teaching of constantly thinking of what we are doing or what we are not doing to please God.

What we need to do is seek His face and walk in obedience to knowing Him, not what we need to be doing for Him.

We have to grow up and say what God says, so we can come into agreement with Him and bring a word of wisdom and God’s life into this dark and perverse generation. Now how do we start doing this? Paul the Apostle says to the Christians in Rome. “I appeal to you brethren and beg you to receive from God spiritual revelation from Him by dedicating yourselves to seeking Him, because this is well pleasing to God and it is a rational meaningful way of worshipping Him. Do not adapt yourselves to the world and its ways. Have your minds renewed, by the new revelation He is giving you of Himself and in turn this will prove to you what the acceptable and perfect will of God is for your life.” In the Greek translation, it emphasizes doing this seeking of Him with intense repetition

In Acts 2: after the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples that were gathered in the upper room, Peter the Apostle stood up and spoke to the people who were present in the city. He said many things, but I want to focus on one in particular. He said, “It will happen that in the last days (which are now) God says I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall speak under divine inspiration giving the counsels of God.

Your young men will have vision of divine appearances and your old men shall have divine inspired dreams.” The very thing he was prophesying, he was doing by standing up and giving God’s counsel to the people. I think much of the body of Christ have lost or never really had a vision of how this was going to work in these last days. I have heard from way to many teachers and preachers of the word over the years that God in some way is going to move spiritually, descend on the planet, and cause some kind of revival, as He did in the upper room at Pentecost.

Do we understand that in order for God to pour out His spirit on humankind, it has to come from out of us? The bible tells me that before this last great gathering of souls into the kingdom. God would first start dealing with His children and if they would seek His face, He would reveal Himself to them. In turn, they could do the works He did, when He walked the planet. What more could God do for us then put Himself in us and give us the opportunity to be His hands extended to a lost world. This idea of being His hand extended has to be an outgrowth or crop of the first act of obedience that He wants.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus says “ Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and we will become complete” That is seeking Him daily in our prayer closet so we can be empowered to touch a lost world. We have to be totally sold out to Him. There is no way that God is going to be able to pour His spirit out on mankind if what we have in our hearts is dried up stony ground.

In the book of John, Jesus was giving a prophetic word to the people. He said He who believes, trusts and relies on Me. Out from his inner most being will flow springs and rivers of living water.” He was speaking here of the Holy Spirit and about those people who were going to receive the Holy Spirit after Jesus had died, rouse and went to heaven. For us who are born again, we are the people who He was talking about. We have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us, who is the teacher and comforter of our souls.

In 1John 2:27-28 John the Apostle tells us that, “we have received an anointing which lives in us permanently. This anointing that you have received will instruct you and will cause you to know the truth and the Devil will not be able to lie to you. Therefore, stay rooted and knitted in Him. In this way when Jesus returns and we see Him face to face, we can have perfect confidence and we will not be ashamed at His appearing.”

It is my honest prayer that you who are reading this, are coming into a greater revelation of God’s love and total acceptance. I believe we are entering into one of the greatest outpouring of revelation from the Holy Spirit that the body of Christ will ever see and if, we will cooperate with Him, we will be a part of it. The reason for this is because; we are going to need this type of manifestation of His power and love as never before, to deal with adversity.

In the Old Testament, we know that the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for forty years. It should have been a fifteen-day trip, but they would not make a total commitment of their lives and sell themselves out to God. In spite of there lack of dedication, God was still faithful and fed them and took care of them. After forty years only Joshua and Caleb who were forty years older and who believed God the first time to cross over the Jordan, were still alive and now they crossed over with a new generation of people into the promise land. Caleb was asked how he felt about crossing over at his age after wandering for forty years. He said I am stronger today in my relationship with God then I was forty years ago and even though there are giants in this new land that God is giving us I am not afraid.

What kind of blessing are you looking for from the Lord? I see and hear of people running all over the country looking for one revival after another. I believe God wants to bring His children

Not into a physical country or place of milk and honey, but into a relationship of milk and honey with Him. There is a difference.

With this anointed relationship, we are going to come up against some serious giants in our walk over the next coming years. We will only be able to handle them by really knowing God and walking in the spirit. I believe that God has a Joshua and Caleb generation of people that He is empowering in these last days, before He returns. There are many of us in the body of Christ who have lived our lives in obscurity (as some would think). I run in to them out here in the market place from time to time. They have been at work seeking and listening and trusting God for years, looking forward to His return. For those who I am talking to, God has not forgotten you but has seen your dedication and trust in Him.

You have been in the wilderness being trained. These are the Caleb’s of this world. God is also raising up a young group of people that are sold out for Him. I run in to them and there love and excitement in God is energizing. These are the Joshua’s of today. These are God’s remnant children. These are the ones who stay over after the church service for the after glow of the spirit or spend that extra time after they have said their prayers, they wait to hear what God has to say on the subject. If you sense in your heart and have an anticipation of God showing up and you feel like you just do not fit in, it is not too late to prepare your hearts and participate in this last great move of God.
