8). He anoints my head with oil and my cup runs over:
Anoints means; a child of God
coming to know that; God his father satisfies, gives him in abundance and make him fat because, he is learning that obedience
is better then sacrifices of trying to be holy in his own strength. The meaningless un-anointed displays going on with in
the Catholic and Protestant assemblies in their endeavors to get God's favor is a shameful display of our fallen nature,
in the sight of God. When we participate in any type of sacrifices, we lose in giving up something valuable by giving away
or selling something below its value. Our value in God's eyes has to become a reality in our lives so that, we are being
delivered from the shame based nature we received from birth.
In the Old Testament
they sacrificed animals to atone for their sins. Once we become born again that type of system of worship ended. The anointing
on our lives that God gave us the day we were saved which ushered us into his kingdom is never taken back by Him. Things that
are anointed are set apart as special unto the Lord and empowered in His courts for service and a ruling position with Him.
Not flowing in our anointing causes us to live with a sin conscience mentality
and the bible says we live in apostasy. Apostasy is a falling away from receiving God's grace because; we judge our self
for our faults and in turn we continue to live in this sin conscience mentality. We actually de-value ourselves in our own
eyes as the way God sees us as righteous = (blameless, free from evil and set apart for His use. In reality we don't believe
Him. I have been totally persuaded that if, the Christian community really understands how kingdom living really works, the
sleeping uneducated church will awake and start doing the works of Jesus.
This
head of oil represents that we are to be fruitful, excellent, have a priestly calling or rule and to be waxed. A born again
Christian who knows who he is in Christ acts like a ruler and performs the duties of a priest in God's courts daily.
Rev.1:6 states, "Jesus has appointed and ordained us as kings and priests in His service."
We are being delivered daily from our shame based nature as we live in a meek and teachable spirit which empowers the Christian
for service too mankind. When one is meek; it does not mean that they are a coward, but it means that; they have a quite and
a submissive spirit because of their deep root relationship with the Holy Spirit. They know that their strength comes from
the Lord. Even though the storms of life rage and trials become stronger, there is an inner assurance of how to let go and
let God operate in our lives. This is the inheritance that we all must emotionally participate in daily.
When the storm was raging as Apostles were crossing the sea, Jesus was asleep in the boat however;
the Apostles became afraid, panicked and woke Him up to calm the circumstances. Unless we see what position and favor we have
in God's sight, we will never speak to our circumstances with power and calm the storms of life. Scripture tells us that
those who know their righteous position in Christ must speak it out of their mouth and let their attitudes be either yes or
no, not maybe. As this attitude grows in the believer and they become persuaded; this causes fear and double mindedness to
be cast out.
We are to speak to the circumstance whether it is between our mates
or family or friends, to the completed answer and not participate in the self pity argument and bondage of the problem.
When a person becomes waxed, they become plentiful and produce a Godly light and salt or vigor to bring wisdom and understanding
of God's ways not only to a dying world without Christ but also, to a lethargic born again church because, they become
easily molded and shaped in their character with a more trusting nature. Because we can become easily molded, there is a quality
of courage and fearlessness that arises with in us accompanied with a very sensitive nature for other peoples feelings. We
become cautious and function with a hearing ear with a very attentive awareness to the inward voice of only what the Holy
Spirit is saying to us. Being meek; produces this quality of life. This is a person becoming independently dependent on God
as he shows them how to become inter-dependent with others. This is the true nature of God and how we learn to participate
and receive the real love of God.
C. My cup runs over: This is our portion that
is satisfied and that is rising in value because of our relationship with Jehovah God because; we are living in His characteristics.
God's righteous spirit flowing through us; gives us an awareness of God's all around security and sovereignty. When
a born again believer comes into the reality of knowing a sovereign God with intimacy, who has power and supreme authority,
there grows an independents and a freedom inside them and they are able to with stand any outside interference and be come
free and know they have the right to self-govern themselves with the Holy Spirit's leadings. God never intended for His
kids to live under any other controlling spiritual force other then Him Self. They want to become addicted to God's presence.
To the born again church that doesn't walk in their righteousness in Christ, they look at their
brothers and sisters who are becoming independently dependent on God as boat rockers and nonconformists. By us participating
in these first eight verses; this is what will produce the ninth verse that we will be talking about. True maturity in the
believer manifests it self with a full assurance and vision in their entire being of this outcome happening.
The Holy Spirit is alive whom we can have fellowship with. On the reverse side, a supernatural spirit
that is felt to be in a near by arena of our life could cause us to think, it's the Spirit of God where in reality, it
is only a mirage and it has no anointing on it. For God to walk among His people, His people need to seek His face at all
hours and get to know Him intimately.
We need to learn to worship the person of
God rather then the presence of God.
9). Surely Goodness and mercy will
follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." Surely: is a constant reminder
that we can be secure and delivered from fear with a certainty no matter what.
Phil.
2:12 tells us to "Work out our salvation in fear and trembling. For it is God which works in us to give us the will to
do his bidding and then He empowers us to do His will." We are talking about to types of fear here. The first type is
a feeling of anxiety and of an unpleasant feeling of apprehension or distress caused by the presence or anticipation of danger.
However; by working out our salvation with fear and trembling in the strength of the Lord; it causes us to have a reverence
and respect for God as we become awed by Him who gives us the power to surrender and submit to all around security and constant
love. Surrender and trust is the key.
In Ephesians 6:5-6 Paul tells the church
"to be single minded in their hearts and to not be a person being a people pleaser type Christian, by trying to be accepted
by man." The perfect example of singleness in mind and heart is found in Acts 2:46 when it says, "the early Christians
day after day they would regularly assemble in the temple with a united purpose and in each others homes, they gathered and
broke bread including the Lords supper. They partook of their food with gladness and simplicity with a generous heart. In
turn, God added to their number daily, those who were being saved."
This
temple gathering was a far cry from our obligated gathering of Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday night bible study.
The structure for Christian's growth to full maturity is us staying in a learning atmosphere of the presence and personal
influences of the Holy Spirit. There are no feelings of obligation at work in these time settings. It is the Holy Ghost's
influence that anchors our soul in Christ. There is no way to live in this surety if; we are living by having an obligated
lifestyle of doing our Christian duty at church and then, living in any type of survivor mode mentality during the week.
The church building should be a place that needs to be always open for the needs of all age groups
for ministry and service to the poor and needy and for the young as a example of the commitment and tenacity needed to be
a born again believer doing the works of Christ in our market places of life. This is going to take all the body of Christ
to function in their places and be built up into a holy edifice as the bible tells us we are to be.
A one person Pastor Rule mentality that has been handed down over these many generations was never
what God intended. The burden of ministry can never be carried by one man rule in a position of authority. This has to be
a family effort of God building His church or the church will be laboring in vain to do God's will. If the structure is
being built as God intended, the surety of a Christian position becomes more of a reality and they begin to really live with
the deep down awareness that, nothing can separate them from the love of God. This is what stabilizes all Christian growth.
In Romans 8:31-39 Paul very graphically identifies the surety of our relationship
with God when he tells the Christians in Rome, "If God is for us, who can be against us. Since He gave us His own Son
to die on the cross for our shame based nature; will He not now give us all that we need to run our race of faith. Who is
it that can put any blame and condemnation on us when God is the one who saved us by His grace and mercy? Who will separate
us from experiencing the love of Christ? Shall grief or anxiety, or ill treatment from people or the fear of not having our
bills paid and going hungry, or exposure to violent acts of harm against us?
Scripture
tells us that some of our circumstances in our arenas of life are trying to terminate our relationship with God at all times.
Since God tells us that we are His sheep, we feel at times that we are being manipulated and are going to be slaughtered by
all these things coming against us. However, in spite of all this, we will be somebody who is enjoying great success in war
and are defeating an enemy or enemies by staying in an attitude of receiving God's love at all times. For I Paul, have
been persuaded that, neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor any principalities, nor powers nor things present, nor things
to come, nor heights, nor depth, nor any creature, shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord."
If you read these verses with a discerning careful attention;
you have to come to the conclusion that, this covers every circumstance that the believer can be confronted with in his daily
arena in his attempt to walk in peace and security. There is much to say here, however two things I want to point out. One,
Paul had to be going through a living relationship with the Holy Spirit daily because, he had to constantly be going through
a process of becoming persuaded that if God was for him who could be against him. Two, he refers to Jesus as becoming his
Lord. As I said earlier, Jesus must represent more to the Christian community of only being our Savior; He must be becoming
our Lord and Master.
B. Goodness and Mercy: When we co-operate with these
two living entities by allowing our heart and mind to come under their influence; we truly come to know that; God has our
health and welfare as a top priority and His affections are focused on our behalf. It also means to be courteous and be treated
as an equal and to pitch a tent and live in peace with this person. As an example; it means to be shown a loving kindness,
which puts away ones feelings of unworthiness or embarrassment which is caused by an evil entity wanting to have control over
our life
C. Follow me: God is running after us in hot pursuit with a passionate
and high intensity for fellowship.
D. Days of our lives: From one sun set to the
next, at all times, at what ever age we are in and forever.
E. Dwell: God wants
to have a quite marriage and for us to stay in a relationship of expectancy for Him to reveal more of His loving nature to
us.
F. House of the Lord forever: Our human nature was made by God to be possessed
and controlled by a higher nature then our own. Our submitting to God's Authority; is what makes us become complete in
Him. No man is a god unto himself. Our shame based nature has a will of its own and is a hostile enemy against the Holy Spirit's
leadings. Our human nature will either gravitate to demonic influences or live by every word that comes out of the mouth of
God with His persuasions.
There are too many areas where God's body is not
independent in practicing their freedom in the Holy Spirit. They are still judging their outward behavior and trying to correct
it with religious efforts. Unless we finally come to operate in the anointing and discern things with the mind of Christ that
we received the day we were born again; we will continue to operate in our own denominational revelation of truth and never
come to understand who our real enemy is.
We who are born again people need to
be operating in born again assemblies where we are under the influence of the teaching and preaching of our righteous position
in Christ because; we are now saints not sinners. It is this influence that keeps us focused on the power we have for doing
the signs and wonders as Jesus did when He was on the earth. As long as we concentrate on all of our faults and things in
our lives that we have to stop doing and things we have to start doing, we will always stay in a fixing up mode and never
grow and mature to know who we are in Christ.
We became aware at one time that;
we were breaking God's commandments and sinning. This should of caused us to repent and let Jesus empower us with His
Spirit and allow Him to come and live and make a home in us. It is the believer understanding and following God's spirit
of Righteousness that; causes the born again believer to flow in the Spirit of forgiveness given to them when they received
their new nature which holds and matures the believer to greatness.
The spirit
of God's forgiveness is shown; by Him sending His best love gift in Jesus and God wants all mankind to have this miraculous
adventure and know that; we are forever forgiven. We are reminded of this by hearing the good news gospel because; it keeps
the awareness of His forgiving spirit alive and active in our heart and actions. I believe that the majority of the born again
church have fallen in love with their own press clippings of personal judgment that states (woe is me; I am unclean.)
The true standard of our born again relationship must be raised to the point that we know for a fact
that, the Lord Jesus Christ is the one who we are raising up to draw men to Himself and that, we are not raising a weak watered
down gospel of man leaning to his own understanding. There are no short cuts of "I will put my hand to hunger and thirst
after God today and then take a vacation until the next time there is a crisis in my life." The word of God is so clear
and packed full of answers of how to allow the Holy Spirit to have full reign in a believer's life. God's word is
like sitting down at a smorgasbord.
Let me leave you with one last thought. God
will never give up on anyone no matter where ever they roam and no matter how hard they try to hide in the darkness and not
come into His marvelous love of light and comfort unbreakable holding power. God's favor is always available but you must
allow Him to show it to you, so you can receive the outcome which is His blessings. What makes the Christian life so rewarding
is that; God's favor never ends and therefore, His blessings are continues.
I
am convinced by my own walk all these many years with Him that; I have just gotten a small glimpse of His goodness, mercy
and the love that He has for me. There is a comforting presence that I have tried for years to put into words and my vocabulary
is inept in doing so. Even though I can't describe it as I would like, it's as if there is a hedge of comfort and
security always there that I can curl up with and even though the storms of life rage however; if I get still, God gets me
to a safe harbor to wait out the storm with him. I am convinced with out a doubt, if we who are born again believers are maturing
and really understanding how secure we are in Jesus Christ, it will usher in His return to this earth.
