When we say that Jesus lived a humble life as a servant; I do not believe from what I
have heard over these last forty five years that; my brothers and sisters in Christ truly understand that; Jesus suffered
all the affliction and temptations that we go through daily through out his life. Scripture
says; we have a High Priest (Jesus) who has physically gone on to be with God and is our representative to God the Father
who has already run His Godly race on earth and we need to be persuaded and know with out a doubt that; Jesus is touched with
the feelings of our failures and infirmities in character because; He was in all ways tempted like we are and yet He did not
sin.
He did not sin because; He had some special anointing different then us.
He was with out sin because; He was a born again believer and God His Father who is also our Father looked at Him as blameless,
free from evil and set apart as His son only because; Christ lived in Him. Unless we truly understand this; we will not be
able to have the great confidence to lean on His unmerited favor and depend on His grace in our time of need when we call
out to Him as our representative before God the Father.
It was Christ who lived
in Jesus that made Him sinless. He was anointed and without sin; however; not by any special privilege of being God's
first born son by His own strength. Jesus grew in the grace and knowledge of God through His dependency on His Father's
unmerited favor (Grace) by Christ's strength and wisdom in the image His Father had of Him. (I pray you are really hearing
what I am saying here.)
When the born again believer has any kind of imaginary idea that Jesus is so separated
and specially anointed in His own strength and believes in any way that He is untouchable and unreachable in relationship
with us His brothers and sisters who have become born again; it nullifies the true concept of His servant hood and comrade
relationship with in the family of God in our mind and heart. When we live with a false interpretation of this image which
is tarnished in our mind and heart; we lose the awareness of God's holding power and the fellow feeling of God's love
and caring that we need to have for success. In turn; we can not adequately enjoy God's peace and rest that our soul desperately
needs today.
As we relate to Jesus tenacity and how he cast His care on trusting
His heavenly Father even to His gruesome death on the cross; it gives us hope when we see how he ran His race of faith and
completed His course in obedience to his call through the strength He received from His Heavenly Father and the unmerited
(grace) relationship He had with Him. This whole process gives us an inner witness by God's grace that; God is alive in
us and He loves to talk to his children. Without God's grace at work, there is no true knowledge of God's love and
a person can not grow to maturity.
Living in God's grace; causes a dying
to self to take place and any concerns you may have to save your reputation must be surrendered to letting Christ live His
life in you as Jesus allowed Him to live in Him. At times this dying to self can be scaring and uncomfortable because our
flesh or childish undisciplined self wants recognition and does not want to come under subjection to God‘s leadings
because of a lack of trust and not be grounded in God's goodness and holding power.
Hebrews
5:7-9 states, " Jesus offered up prayers and sincere appeals with strong crying and tears to God because; He knew God
was able to save him from death, and He was heard by God because; he walked in the reverential fear of God. Though He was
a Son, yet he learned obedience through the things that he suffered. And being made perfect; He became the author of eternal
salvation to all them that obeys Him."
A born again believer can not or must
not work at perfection; it is a waste of time and effort, Jesus was perfect because; in God's eyes as I have stated and
it bears being said again and again, Christ the second person of the God Head lived in Him and because God His Father saw
Christ in Him; this is what credited Him as being perfect and complete. Jesus was born perfected. Period!
No other doctrine other then our righteous position in Christ must be added in any so called Godly
assemblies who claim to be lifting up the Lord to the people.
We who have been
added to the family as His children are the same as Jesus. To many of you; this is in deed a far fetched idea to really believe.
It is my deepest and most sought after hope that I walk in the complete and powerful anointing of this truth as I pray that;
you learn to walk in it too. It is with this revelation that causes us to move mountains and do the same miraculous works
that Jesus did when he walked the earth.
This scripture tells us that because
Jesus was perfect: He became the Author (The Creator or original role model) of eternal salvation and He gave it to all that
OBEY HIM.
Now; what type of obedience was he talking about? When we talk about
being obedient; most people believe that; we must follow certain rules that God has set down and if we work hard enough and
keep our nose to the grind stone; we might get the prize of finally arriving at some destination. This concept puts a heavy
demand on one self and just wears a person out. There is no rest and trust in the new creature we became when Christ Jesus
came to live in our physical bodies and delivered us from these burdens and responsibilities when we labor to stay born again.
There is no obedience when we carry this type effort being needed.
Our obedience
is in believing that in God's eyes we are already complete and blameless. There are very few born again believers that
believe they are saints and not sinners. Because of our new born again nature; we have the ability to walk in heavenly places
with Christ Jesus now while we are living in our physical bodies. When we get to heaven with our new glorified bodies do you
thing we are still going to work at trying to perfect our self?
If the full God
Head is now living in us with all of our Father's characteristics and we walk in heavenly places now; why are there so
many born again believers still so sin conscience living under condemnation and second guessing their security as God's
children?
In my own seeking after God; He has given me a revelation and vision
of His thoughts that I have learned are higher and richer then my thoughts and it causes me to surrender to what Paul said
in Philippians 2:13. "For it is not in our own strength for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you
energizing and creating in you the power and desire both to will and to work for his good pleasure and satisfaction and delight."
This is the dying to self and learning how to surrender and trust the Holy Ghost which in turn has
our steps ordered by the Lord. This only happens as we cast our entire care and life on the love God has for us. Our fault
minded thoughts that we all have to deal with is a real pain and annoyance that the devil tries to plague us with so we don't
walk with our heads held up high and with confidence in the anointing we process as God's kids.
Paul tells us in Gal. 2:20. " We have been crucified with Christ; never the less we are alive in our
physical body; yet not us but Christ who lives in us and the life that we live in our fleshly body we live by the faith of
the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself to us."
It was more then the
physical abuse and torture that Jesus endured that made Him eventually die. He also endured the mental and psychological torment
by being criticized harshly and unsparingly. He endured the cruelty and torment and the severe discipline because; he wanted
to obey His Father's will.
If we can not relate and allow the finished work
of what Jesus did at the cross to take hold and dominate our life; the devil's tactic is for us to go through life being
tormented over and over again with this same inner emotional pain and the physical illness that we all deal with as we get
older. That is the reason Christ died for us so we could be set free to have an abundant life while we live on this planet
and rest in his finished work.
My wife and I being in our seventies have had to
deal with many physical and financial trials all of our life at times. In the book of Job which is a book that most Christians
don't want to talk about because of the trial that he went through in growing to know the love that God had for him. Although
reading Job is some tough reading; there is a wonderful thing to be learned about a man who cast his entire care of his life
in God's hands and become persuaded of the true love God had for him.
We first
need to recognize that Job even though God said he was righteous and with out sin in his complaining; he did not have Christ
living in him. He was serving God with his own efforts and believing that some where down the road he would be vindicated
of this hardship that had come upon him. This is the way many Christians live today. It is the concept again (God loves me
and he loves me not.) Job's trial was so great that his comment in verse 13:15 was. "God even though you slay me;
yet will I serve Him." (He thought God was slaying him.)
Can you admit that
you have felt the same at times of great stress and confusion going on in your life when you wondered if; God had forsaken
you and you thought He might have gone on vacation or He had other more important priorities then yours?
There have been things that I have had to learn the hard way not because I didn't love the Lord
with all of my heart but because of my immaturity and ignorance and; I have learned because of my circumstances and my need
for Him; it has made it impossible to prevent me from casting all my care on God my Father because; He is a Father to all
those who have no father or have never been loved by the physical father that birthed them into the world in the first place.
We must trust God our Father as Jesus trusted Him to go to the cross for us. As we learn to trust and incorporate His finished
work; we can rest and live in peace and security.
Let's search out and try
to understand how Jesus suffered and did humble works in Christ's name. If you have understood so far that; Jesus the
man had Christ the second person of the God head living in Him and His power and ability to live the Christian life was to
cast all His cares on God His Father. This may seem to be a new concept in your thinking however; we must be grounded and
understand that Jesus went through all the demonic attacks that we do. He was trying to stand in the gap for God and trying
to heal and give a word of wisdom to people he cared about who were opposing them self and many condemned Him for hanging
out with sinners, money changers and harlots.
There have been times in my life
when some of the physical, financial and psychological trials that my wife and I have gone through were so debilitating that
my only hope and encouragement was God reminding me of the cross where Jesus suffocated to death to show me that He trusted
God our Father to the point of knowing that; this was what His Father wanted for Him. To my natural mind this makes no sense
and I would have a difficult time wanting that for my children. It is obvious to me that I have a lot to learn about God my
Father and the way He loves me and how He planned to deliver and restore what the devil has tried to destroy and inflict on
God's children and His destruction for mankind.
All of us who are God's
children should have an unquenchable hunger to understand God our Father's thoughts and ways. It grieves me when I meet
born again believers who do not have a clue as to who birthed them into God's kingdom. It's as if their mentality
and understanding makes them feel and act as illegitimate children and God is some kind of power some place; that is emotionally
detached, distant and difficult to understand.
There is a song that came out a
few years back that states "from a distance God is watching over you." Too many people believe that this is encouraging
and that it keeps them mindful that there is a God who cares. I have learned and been loved with patience in all my wanderings
and know that; God is not from a distance anything. Father's who truly love their children talk to them, do things with
them, meet their needs, discipline them and is concerned about every step they take.
When
my children were little and learning to walk, they would hold onto the coffee table and my wife and I would call them to come
to us and those first few feet were scary and they had to trust us that; we would catch them so they won't fall down.
I have found that God my Father works the same with me. He is always trying to influence my thinking to do things that I know
that I have no ability to do and I have to trust Christ in me to get me to participate in the visions He has given me for
my life. The bible says. "We have to walk by faith and not by sight." If Peter was going to walk on the water; he
had to believe Jesus when He said "Peter come to me." I am sure that stormy sea was terrifying to Peter.
Nothing we do by faith makes any sense to our natural mind because; when we use our natural senses
it causes us to look for security by leaning towards things that are familiar, repetitious and have physical substance which
in turn; causes us to not participate in our inheritance God our Father gave us the day He birthed us into His kingdom. It
pleases God when His children trust Him because; they allow Him to take care of their need which is His first priority and
the longing of his heart. It is by the born again child of God believing in their heart and mind that no matter what crevices
or thickets of life they might get into; God attitude and desire is to bless His children and he never stops wanting to get
them to a harbor of safety.
In 1Cor. 15:34 Paul says. "Awake to righteousness,
and sin not; because some of you do not have the true knowledge of God; which has brought you to living being ashamed of yourself."
Christians who do not believe that they are (blameless, free from evil and set apart in the service of God their Father) have
become mesmerized and deceived as to the quality product they became when God birthed them into the family as His sons and
daughters. Paul told these people to awake from a condition that had them not understanding who they were as God's children.
This lack of understanding to this day is still running ramped with in the born again church and God's born again children
still consider them selves as sinners instead of God's saintly children who have been TOTALLY FORGIVEN.
As I said; when we reason the scripture and misinterpret their meaning by using our natural mind;
it brings shame into our thinking and a condescending spirit on our soul. No one who lives in this bondage will ever come
to know what being Christ Imaged is all about.
Now the consequences of this un-righteous
thinking; will cause it to be impossible to be obedient when we come together and gather in Christ's name. Jesus told
us that; where ever two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them. The word for gathered in the Greek
is sunago: and it means gathering in know our completeness in Christ. It is by us coming into agreement with the Holy Ghost
and making verbal statements under His anointing that gives us the assurance that what we are confessing will come to pass.
People who are not Christ imaged in their mind and hearts are not able to do this. In turn, their anointing and son ship in
Christ becomes of non effect as far as using their God given inheritance given to them the day they came into the family.
Our Christian foundation must be built on our righteousness as God sees us and
any other doctrine of demonic manipulated persuasion must be recognized by us with spiritual perception, and condemned and
rejected.
I will end with this one example trying to show the utter futility
of us trying to make God into our image through nonsense doctrines that I have heard coming out of the born again church for
some forty five years. In turn; it has kept the majority of His body of born again children who have been washed in His blood
at the cross living like beggars and paupers causing them to never understand how completely loved and empowered they are
as far as their Heavenly Father is concerned.
There are many examples I can use
to make my last point and I will talk about David the King's call in obedience to God's will for his life. For this
example to work in a Christian's life and for them to have confidence and hope in God; they must trust God's evaluations
and perception of what greatness is and know that; God judges by reading the hearts of his children and not by judging their
out ward behavioral acts which many believe qualifies them for greatness.
That is why it is imperative that we are uniquely
aware of being Christ imaged in our understanding because; this is what shows us how to co-operate with God's grace which
reveals to us the way he thinks.
David's had seven brothers and he was the
youngest. From an outward appearance; he was ruddy and did not have a beautiful countenance and was not good to look at in
statue in comparison to his brothers let alone that he lived every day with sheep smell on him. From us to reason with our
rational mind you would think that; he was the most immature and needed some seasoning to be in a place that God could use
him for His purposes. God sent Samuel the Prophet to Jesse's house his father to anoint David to be the new king over
the Israelites because; Saul the existing King; had betrayed his trust in God.
We
see here that God qualified David from a different standard compared to mankind's idea of education or training. His whole
experience with God was as a young man tending sheep and as I think about his life; he must have had a lot of quality time
in conversations with the God as he sought after and had just fallen in love with the relationship he had with Him. In this
relationship; his life was built on being God imaged and not self imaged and he was in training not even knowing what God
had in store for him as he diligently sought after Him because of the pure pleasure of enjoying His Company. If any man had
a heart after God David did; just read the Psalms and see how honest he was with explaining his feelings and how he had learned
to cast his care on God.
I ask you; how can one possibly live to their fullest
potential with out an intimate and true revelation of who they are unless; they have become born again into God's family
and trust the Holy Ghost's inner voice and letting go and letting God live again in them.
God calls and qualifies us by His plan and we must call on His name with deep respect if; we are going to
participate in the spiritual world and be able to co-operate with Him which is the only thing that can give our life meaning.
While we were in our mother's womb; God knew us and qualified us with gifts with a specific purpose in our dispensation
of time on this planet. It is saddening that I meet many Christians that love God however; He is some kind of abstract being
some where in the heavens who they now about but are not able to assemble at His table of plenty and enjoy a family setting
where only our true identity flourishes. God will be as real to you as you allow him to be however; you must abandon your
self to His possessive love and truly know that; you are always totally accepted by Him in all circumstances.
