How we can grieve the Holy GhostThe Holy
Ghost can be grieved because; He has an unending love for us and, it is his total resolve to protect and nourish us WITHOUT
JUDGMENT. His top priority is to stop us from falling between the cracks of life and becoming our worst enemy as we go though
our wilderness walk of life by equipping us to finish our race set before us as God intended. If you do not have a living
personal experience of knowing that kind of love and security in your life then; listen closely and let the Holy Ghost come
to your aid.
Paul in Ephesians 4:30-32 tells us, do not grieve the Holy
Ghost of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, and clamors, and evil
speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even
as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Let's define some of these terms underlined from Webster's Dictionary
and the Greek Concordance.
Webster's definitions of these terms:
Bitterness-angry and resentful,
difficult to accept: mentally painful, expressing intense hostility and wanting to fight.
Wrath- revenge and divine retribution in some peoples beliefs as being punishment by God for sin and trying to get
even. This type of wrath causes a person to not be living in the love and merciful nature of God.
Anger- Having feelings of strong displeasure in response to an assumed injury with strong resentment.
Being impatient and having a life that is not properly organized because you can not walk in the steps that God has ordained
for your life.
Clamors- demanding attention loudly and insistently fighting
for the right to be heard.
Evil speaking- somebody who does evil and
unloving acts
Malice- law intent to do harm: the intention to commit
an unlawful and unjustifiable act that will result in harm to your self and others.
Kind-having a generous warm compassionate nature.
Tender hearted-
A person being sensitive and showing care.
Forgiving- A person inclined
to forgive in most circumstances and making allowances for a degree of imperfection and trying to cope well with people's'
degrees of imprecision, lack of skill, or other imperfections.
With the
New Testament being written in the Greek; let's define these same words. You will notice the difference between the two
which represents primarily a person in his own strength trying to live the Christian life with their own coping mechanisms
verses the love of God working on the inside of you.
The Greek definitions of these terms
Bitterness- To pitch a tent and constantly
live in agreement with this evil spirit entity which is demonic in nature and it harms your mind, will and emotions.
Wrath- This is a person doing self sacrificing deeds that make them angry with them
self because; they have no freedom or liberty in walking as a child of God in Christ Jesus.
Anger- To long for peace but be in bondage to a spirit that causes you to demand your own rights which causes you
to justify yourself rather then be willing to listen to reason and change as the Holy Ghost empowers you to.
Clamors- To croak like a raven, by trying to continually beg some one to love you however;
you are living as a slave of being forced to follow other peoples dictates.
Evil speaking- Abusive language and attacking some one else's good name by being foul-mouthed or vulgar by using
obscene language.
Malice- Living in toiling and anguish. This is living
out of Christ‘s character and a child of God can be a slave to this spirit. This causes extreme harm to them self and
others who have to deal with this spirit. This causes a person to feel worthless and blame others for a lack of self worth
that they have for them self. People in this bondage do not love them self and the real enemy is the person they see in the
mirror each morning.
Before we go on in describing the Holy Ghost's
characteristics and intension that He has towards God's children including those who are not His children; all these other
characteristics we have defined from the Greek so far are the motivations of the devil. He is the one that is truly bitter
because; he was thrown out of heaven and down to the earth and he knows that; there is no forgiveness for him and the only
way he can get even is to harass God's children by inflicting pain and misery. I believe I have made this plain enough
to understand.
We must be able to define the devils deceptive tactics
verses knowing how the Holy Ghost is trying to encourage and protect us. We live in a war zone however; God has equipped
us to win and we must not allow the devil to put his darts of deception in our mind and heart and attack our emotions causing
us to lose our peace.
An uninformed illiterate Christian who is not grounded
in the word of God is a wayward sheep that has got caught up in the thickets of life with either religious ideas or is being
influenced by demonic spirits coming to steal, kill and destroy because they do not have a disciplined life of meditating
on the scripture day and night. In turn; it causes them to not know their true position in Christ Jesus. We will now go
on in defining the Holy Ghost's characteristics.
Being kind to one
another - To furnish what's needed in a person's life by the anointing of the Holy Ghost who lives in us and we must
allow him to operate to His fullest capacity which gives us great liberty. A person showing kindness entreats a person through
persuasive anointed Holy Ghost words and prayer in the expectation that; they will adhere to the Holy Ghost's voice and
follow His direction and come to the end of living in their own efforts. This is the Holy Ghost's way to get our attention.
Tender hearted- Having compassion and fellow feeling of the growing pains of others
with an inward tenderness coming from the heart of God Him self. The word spleen is also mentioned in this Greek word in its
definition. When God shows me things like this; I am reminded that God's thoughts and ways are higher then ours however;
since we are His children by our born again experience there is a higher wisdom for us and we can understand Him because;
He gave us his mind when we had our new birth experience.
If I had not
been seeking God's wisdom and writing these articles from the original text of the Greek and Hebrew; I would have never
had a clue to the true interpretation of what the Holy Ghost gives me to write. It makes sense to my mind and I can rightly
interpret the scriptures. Our spiritual life is totally dependent and fed from God's words that are alive and given by
the Holy Ghost as He applies it to the exact need that we have in persuading us to follow His leading. It is the life of
Christ living again in us.
We know that our physical spleen purifies the
blood in our body. From a scriptural and spiritual perspective we know that; Jesus own blood was what washed us free from
our fallen nature at the cross and by our born again experience; we became the righteousness of Christ Jesus and He wants
us to be continually experiencing this washing of our mind and heart with the blood of Christ Jesus by the Holy Ghost teaching
us God's word as we allowing Him to write it on the fleshy tables of our heart. People who are grieving the Holy Ghost;
can not show true kind heartedness to them self or others. I pray you are hearing me.
Forgiving- Let me start by saying that God is the Author of forgiveness. If we truly want to grow in the grace and
knowledge of the Lord Christ Jesus; we must walk in the spirit of forgiveness as we breathe oxygen to sustain life in our
physical body. It is the Holy Ghost who is the spirit of forgiveness as we allow Him by being transparent and naked in His
sight. We must guard our heart so we do not become self righteous and think we need to help God out by doing things in His
service and become self seeking and feel obligated to God or each other.
A
forgiving person being led by the Holy Ghost does not do something regarded as unimportant or demeaning in order to impress
or appear generous toward others but shows good manners and common sense and courtesy.
People who are forgiving; LOVE THEM SELF and do not get easily offended when others who cross their path are those
that have a lack of self esteem for them self and show disdain and hatred towards them. They stay loving because; their image
does not depend on what other people think about them. As a person's self image in Christ grows; their self worth grows
and they stop looking for approval and verifications from others on what God has called them to do. They become more patient
and accepting when they are called on by God to give a word of wisdom to those who oppose them self because their self esteem
is in the toilet. Yes; that's where it is. God's kids were not called to live with a wet smelly basement mentality
but to be living in the palace with God their Father.
If we are
going to live forgiving; we must be showing God's love which is described in 1 Cor. 13:1-8. Read and meditate on it and
let the Holy Ghost apply what He wants; to your heart and soul. Being a hungry born again child of God is not for people
who are timid, unassertive, or having an ineffectual half hearted commitment. I know if you are reading this; you are searching
for a higher wisdom then your own and you know how desperately you have to surrender and trust in the love God that he has
for you. Remember; we can only love our self and others as we allow God to love us. He is the source of all life and there
is no one like Him.
As Christ has forgiven you- Christ forgave us while
we were with out hope and living with a fallen nature and were a slave to having a weak will to break God‘s commandments
and that's why Christ stepped out of heaven and came to earth to live in Jesus and die on the cross to save us from our
self.
The difference between God's love and man's kind of love
is found in Romans 5:6-10 where Paul said. "For when we were with out strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Now for almost certainly not; will a man die for a righteous man. Yet, a person may even be persuaded to die for a good man.
However; God decided that; we deserved or were entitled to experience his love even though we were yet sinners and Christ
died for us.
How much more then; as we being justified and put in right
standing by being washed in his blood, shall we be saved from feelings that God will take revenge on us because; Christ‘s
died on the cross for us. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, how much more
will we be brought back into a friendly loving relationship by participating in Christ's life."
This lets me know that; God never had any thing against me and He continually reminds me that; His
love has no conditions attached to it. I am totally convinced if the world comes to taste this kind of love from God the
Father; they will become addicted to his presence.
Now again; the Holy
Ghost's job is to be our Teacher and Comforter in our Christian walk and it grieves Him when we harm our self through
our ignorance of not knowing God's kind of love for all creation and for those who are His children which are only those
who have become born again by His Spirit. Some times I wonder with the many people I meet if; they have truly been enlightened
and have tasted of the heavenly gift and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost; and have tasted the good word of God and the
powers of the world to come.
We have five underlined qualities that must
be in operation in a Christian's life which Paul the Apostle stated in the sixth chapter of Hebrews. These qualifications
are Holy Ghost motivated and only empowered by Him as we surrender to his ability and we are to not try to substitute these
five witnesses in mimicking them in our own fleshly ideas and endeavors.
Walking
and having these five qualities at work in our life; will cause you to not grieve the Holy Ghost because; you will be getting
to know Him more intimately and not want to make Him sad at us continually abusing our self. Our walk with the Holy Ghost
must become a way of life as God's children or we will live in some kind of twilight zone between light and darkness.
We will in the continuing parts of this article define these five underlined statements and also discuss how we were SEALED
by God until the day of our total redemption. A person who knows their sealed lives in God's love not fear, condemnation
or rejection. Cont. P 2
