Vision-Knowledge-Grace
The word vision is defined as the ability to perceive or discern and anticipate
a mental image or a prophesy of power or wealth. The word knowledge has many meanings, however
in this context it means, to have an acquaintance with, to comprehend or declare, participate with another and be privy to
a special plan and to become a skilled man or woman by an acquired relationship through experiences with some one. The word
grace is a power coming from God that enables us to live in the Righteous Spirit of Jesus
Christ.
Proverbs 29:18 tells us, “Where there is no vision (no redemptive
revelation of God,) the people perish.” When a person has no revelation
of their redemptive state, that they received the day they made Jesus their savor, they do not understand or comprehend
what type of life style they were delivered from and how far away they are from God in knowing the oath and promises that
God gave to them, when they stepped into His kingdom the day they became saved.
That’s right; we stepped into heaven the day we became born again.
Unless the true vision of our position in Christ is being taught when we
gather in Christ’s name, God’s people will suffer loss by operating in a religious state
of stupor and living in a vegetated state in not knowing what real life in the Holy Spirit is all about.
When the message of our true righteousness in Christ is preached, which
is our position as sons of God confirmed by His word, we will begin to believe what God wants us to have and this in
turn will causes us to seek after a higher wisdom then our own. We will then with confidence begin to question God as to how
this vision that He is giving us can operate in our lives. This is the only way of learning how to grow up to be a mature
Christian. God invites our discourse and questioning. He loves to reason with us as a Father teaching His son. The vision
of what God wants us to have, causes in us a hunger after a relationship with Him because, it is too good to believe in the
natural.
A passion begins to arise in us and we meditate day and night by seeking His counsel in all things. As our
trust in Him increases, we begin to lower our defenses and allow God to love us. We then begin to discover His heart that
whispers as a jealous lover, I find no fault in you. This makes us respond like a magnet to His leadings as we open up to Him intimately.
Scripture tells us that, we first need to get knowledge, then mix it with wisdom and it will then give us
understanding. In John 14:26 Jesus said, “The Comforter, Counselor or Advocate,
who is the Holy Spirit, who the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things.” An advocate is one
who speaks for another.
In my forty some years of seeking of God, it is a great concern to me of the many people that I meet daily,
who love the Lord, but have no clue as to what privileges and position they have as being a child of God. My wife and I were
recently invited to a bible study by some wonderful people at their home. The study was on prayer and communicating with God.
The study lasted one hour, like we were on a time table of ritualism. There was no life and hunger in letting the Holy Spirit
energies the fellowship and it became a social club meeting of ritualistic behavior. What really concerned me was there were
some real needs that God was trying to heal for a long time in these people and because of there learned behavioral formats,
they stopped God from moving in their midst.
Scripture tells us that, we are the righteous in Christ, the day we became
born again and righteous forever. It also says that if we know what our righteousness in Christ is all about, we will bubble
over and testify of the hope that is in us. This joy and excitement will create in all who are gathering in His name a confirmation
in us that God is alive and working a perfect work in us. You never get enough of God’s presence and fellowship where
the Holy Spirit is leading in worship and teaching.
You can’t put a muzzle on the Holy Spirit if you say you are really seeking the
Lord and gathering in His name.
This tells me that we can be born again, but gathering in ritualistic endeavors that have nothing to do with
God’s eternal purposes. This knowledge that we need is God’s last will and testament, which is the bible. It is
called the living word because; it has to be taught to us by the Holy Spirit and not through
denominational doctrines or sects. Jesus said, “The words that I speak, are spirit and
life.”
As a born again believer, we have to finally realize that, we have the right and privilege to approach God
and ask Him for this higher wisdom then our own. We need to become independent and stop being a follower of cliquey groups.
This is the key to maturity and our security in Christ.
Do you have any desire in you for greatness and wonderment as to sensing God’s eye on you for a specific
purpose?
Unless we become independent and sure that our relationship with God is
a majority, we can not go on to become inter-dependent with others. Unless you are becoming independent in your thinking,
your choices that you make to love and share are from feelings of obligation and a sense of wanting to belong. This is a sever bondage in the life of the believer. You become a robot and your walk
with the Lord becomes mechanical, dry and defeating.
Unless we get the word of God written on the fleshy tables of our heart, our salvation experience will never
enable us to run our race with purpose and victory. As we get knowledge by reading the word, we then have to get to know the
voice of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to rightly interpret it to our heart and mind. Knowledge mixed with the Holy Spirits
wisdom, then produces understanding. This process gets us to interact with the nature of God and know how He handled His conflicts
of life when He walked the planet.
Let’s remind ourselves that being a Christian is not about being good and
obeying certain rules, but about a healthy loving relationship between two people, which becomes a loving relationship
with many people. Now we know where the knowledge comes from and we know that knowledge
has to be mixed with the wisdom of Holy Spirit speaking to us on the inside, so that we
can understand how to walk in the Spirit. We now come to God’s grace.
We said grace, is the power of God to live the Christian life. Grace is us being influenced with God’s own
personality in our hearts and minds. It is actually God’s Spirit weaving Himself in our very being.
If God’s grace is having access to our inner being, it produces a feeling of gratitude, pleasure and
a feeling of wellbeing with joy, no matter what condition you find yourself in. Now lets get real here, this is something
that we are going to have to contend for all of our lives so we can live in this state.
Jesus said, “In the world you shall have trouble, but I have overcome the world.” Since
we have the Holy Spirit in us, we can do the same. The gospel is stated in the bible as the good
news. Scripture tells us when we meditate, we should think on good things. If you live as an informed person
and you have rightly interpreted the word of God and compared it with what’s going on in the world today, you can only
come up with one conclusion, we are living in some serious times and the day is approaching of Jesus coming back for His body.
There is only one way for born again believers to overcome the world atmosphere and that is by interacting with the grace
of God in their lives. This is what makes us overcomers.
God’s grace has nothing to do with us conjuring up some inner self sufficiency. Human nature or the
flesh always wants to plan its work and work
its plan. You can say that, grace says, “Let go and let God.” Well
let’s get real again. Have you ever lived in fear of anything? Fear of the past, fear of the present, fear of the future,
fear of the bills not being paid, fear that you won’t have any place to live, fear of losing your job, fear of not being
accepted, fear that you might have committed some horrific sin and God will not forgive you for it, just a flat our fear of
people in general, fear that your marriage might not last, fear of dying and going to hell, fear that some people will find
out you did something terrible in your passed and never were found out. I could go on and on. Where the grace of God is not
in operation, fear runs ramped.
Now there is not a person on the planet who ever lived that has not come under attack from some fear or another.
In 1Peter1:2 Peter says, “May grace which brings spiritual blessing and peace be given to you
in increasing abundance, with a discerning peace with life, by having an intimate relationship
with Christ. In turn, this will make you able to be free from fears, agitating passions and moral
conflicts.” When you focus on what the word of God says here, it is us allowing the Holy Spirit to be the Comforter
and securer of our souls.
Scripture tells us to come to God as a child. Haven’t you at times struggled with doing this? I have
and I thought I have to be doing something. When we try to help God out, it hinders Him from working his perfect will in our
lives. I don‘t know about you but, I still have to fight these tendencies to let go and let God.
The battle we have is between us functioning in Jesus Righteous Spirit verses us functioning in our own un-righteous
spirit. It is not my intention to end this chapter on a negative note. Our righteous condition now that we are born again
people is not being preached and taught in born again assemblies as God intended and the Holy Spirit is grieved when we miss
the mark of His high calling.
Where denominulation teachings flourish, fear and spiritual retardation
is running ramped. What we have become is the frozen chosen. There is no
way this condition can get healed by us singing it off, dancing it off, suddenly laying hands on people or any other method
being conjured up in different assemblies. Let’s get back to basics and go on from
there. Jesus not only saves but, He also sanctifies.
In my office sitting on my computer, I have a sail boat that my daughter gave me many years ago. On the sail
it reads, “The will of God will never lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you.”
Grace is a commodity badly needed in the body of Christ today.
It is the influence of God that covers the shame and sin consciousness that most Christians are still living in today. The
key to receive God’s grace is a surrendering of self with a thankful heart and an awesome respect for someone who loves
and likes us better then we love and like ourselves. This is the only report of the good news
gospel. Let’s learn to accept God’s grace, which is His unmerited favor.
